What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Prep and paint-my-wheels-weekend before the truck goes into the body shop for rear lift gate replacement

I used Dupli-Color HWP102 Graphite
2 cans did all four wheels with enough left over for the center caps

Crappy pic in the garage, sorry it got late

1. Washed the wheels inside and out with dish soap and a brush
2. scuffed the faces with steelwool and SimpleGreen
3. Rinsed everything off and left to dry in the sun
4. Cleaned the faces with 91% rubbing alcohol
5. taped off the insides of the rim and valve stems with 2" painters tape
6. collared the rims using stiff cardboard postcards and mailers (taller than playing cards) secured with painters tape
7. put 4-5 coats on waiting 10 minutes between each
8. let dry an hour plus
9. rotated and mounted

The car will now sit in the body shop for 7-10 days, allowing the pain to cure. Once I get my car back I will wash the rims and inspect to see if any touchups are needed before I clear them

In the mean time I will work on the center caps and order some black lug nuts

This bad boy brought me to the trail head of Wheeler Peak, New Mexico. Difficult hike. Summit is 13,159ft. 3,000ft gain in elevation over a 4+ mile hike.

Today i finally finished putting my lift in. Tokico blacks and 8 wraps in the rear, toytec/bilstein 5100s in the front. Took me about 2 days taking my time doing everything right. While I was down there I thought real hard about doing the lbjs since I’m at 200K. I even have the oem parts.... BUT it’s 92*F here in FL and I’m over with working on her. She’ll sit until my adjustable panhard comes in so I can get a proper alignment. Drive it for another couple miles before I start reading about lbj failures again and realize I have to spend time in the hotbox (garage)...

I am excited to drive her though! Can’t wait for the cv boots to tear!

Looks great! I would install the panhard bar lift/adjustable panhard as well as the front diff drop and an extended rear brake line if I were you though.

I ordered the adjustable pan hard from sonoran but he’s out of the shop this week and from his website it takes him 7-10 days to make and ship.. but all those are ordered. Should’ve ordered them with the lift but you live and you learn

Returned from a weekend Moab trip!! Had an absolute blast I still can't believe I was down there. Drove chicken corners, bull canyon, Potash to Shafer, and a few others. Also rolled over 200k in my 4Runner, it's been a great weekend to say the least!

Well south Florida weather tends to make me work a bit slower. Don’t wanna heat stroke myself out haha. And I’ll admit most of it was talking/contemplating whether or not I should actually use the “suicide sticks” to compress the coils

It would take me 2 days if not more and in Florida you're about
a half of a mile away from the sun (maybe less) so you
have to factor in that frustration.
