Oil change
Swapped out my crappy drivers seat for a newer one, swapped in heating elements and a new bottom seat cover. Apparently there was some sort of running change, the seat base bolt holes don't line up in back...
Put in a 1 farad capacitor for the stereo, I'll be swapping in a larger alternator pretty soon.
Foglight switch mod for my 55w hid fog lights. Getting ready to order the parts for hid projector retrofit soon. Grabbed a really nice steering wheel to replace my shredded one but forgot where my stupid star sockets were. New carpet coming soon.

I’ve been looking into a couple of Harrop products here today. One is their drivetrain vent extension kit.. and the other is their Eaton/Harrop e locker. As I have the sr5 I’ve been beating my had against the wall about lockers for a while now lol

Washed it and trimmed another bar out of the grille so the winch fits a little better as well as the cover. The chrome has been bugging me but guess I’ll wait till it’s warmer than 34 degrees to paint

Flushed the tranny fluid and changed the filter. Actually I didn't really change the filter, as I didn't like the oil pickup on the Beck Arnley filter I bought, so I just transplanted the cork gaskets form Beck Arnley onto my factory one and called it good.

Flushed the tranny and after about 15 quarts the fluid coming out of the return line was as clean as what was going into the fill tube, so that was good enough for me.

Replaced the drain plug since the old one was all chewed up, and ran a 10mm - 1.5 tap through the pan threads.



Also greased all the U-joints and the slide yokes. I actually took the slide yokes apart to inspect it, and good thing too - the rear one was bone dry, and the front one had some weird fluorescent yellow grease remnants.

And with the above, I think I reached a huge milestone - caught up on all the maintenance for this 167K truck. Did I miss anything in this list of things I did in the past two months (I shudder to ask):

- Oil/filter
- Air Filter
- Flush Brake Fluid
- Flush transmission fluid
- Drain and fill front and rear diff, and transfer case
- Spark plugs and wires
- Flush coolant
- Alignment
- New brake pads and rotors
- Valve cover gaskets and seals
- Timing belt, radiator, hoses, belts, water pump, thermostat

Did I miss anything, or am I good for ~30K (not counting engine oil)?

Took it to work today to change out all my belts and wow! It's amazing to not have the PS pump squeal when going to lock anymore and no more chirps from my AC belt when the clutch would engage.

Got the 4Runner back Wednesday afternoon from a new mechanic shop I’ve never been to to get the heater core changed and they changed it but they were 3 days longer than they said so for almost two weeks they had it and they messed up my dash so I had to go back and fix that and my right side speakers weren’t working the coolant lines were all leaking fixed that and other little things ...frigin dumb and won’t be taking it back ...I’m happy they did the heater core but very disappointed by the I don’t care about putting it all back together...hope I don’t find anything else ....original one changed at 320,500 miles ....no heat life has ended haha

My big job today was to fabricate the 2 long nut plates that go into the frame for the forward hitch mounting bolts. Not my best work, but it will be good enough for what it is.

Grease u-joints.
Valve adjustment while the valve covers were removed.
Cam plugs.
Cam seals.
Crankshaft seal.
Timing belt tensioner bearing replacement.
Timing belt idler replacement.
PCV valve.
Clean MAF sensor.

Thanks! Not sure how I managed to leave off that I greased the u-joints, since I just did that today!

Otherwise - Crankshaft seal, Cam seals, Timing belt tensioner, and idler bearing done as part of TB replacement, and PCV valve, Cam plugs, Clean MAF sensor done as part of VCG replacement. So I guess the valve adjustment will be next time around .

Not a stellar way to start the school year.....It wasnt flat last night.
The spare is riding about 1 inch higher than the flat tire. Im pretty sure its the original.

Drove it to my future in-laws and saw this in the neighbors yard. Looks like it’s been sitting there for a while. Might knock on their door and ask if they’ll sell it, if it’s 4x4.

Bought it and got it home. PO had straight water in the block. Should start tearing it down in a couple of days.
