Exterior upgrades

Ordered some Shackle brackets last week and installed them. Also got new turn signal housings for Christmas so decided to do those as well! This thing never stays the same for too long

Where did you mount the shackles? The only way that i know of to mount them right is by bolting some brackets to the frame, using the existing tow hook points. Doesn't look like that on the picture.

Also, if you ever go on a trail, say goodbye to the light bar. It was probably a cheap one, but still, it sucks to break it.

The shackles are held on with zip ties duh!! Why would I bother to get brackets and actually do it the right way and mount it to the frame? ����. And the light bar is flush with the lower valance and I haven't taken down any trails yet so it works fine for now!! Didn't know I was gonna be criticized for posting on here!!

Yeah I did my research before deciding on the brackets.
I bought some of the brackets from another member last week and they are installed correctly where the factory tow hooks were located. And the light bar is pretty much flush with the lower valance so unless I'm gonna rip that off too lol I understand what your saying but I still have yet to even take it down any trails (not a whole lot around me).

100 ft of Master Pull 5/16th Superline. Factor 55 1.5" fairlead, and Factor 55 Flatlink Expert.

Looks good. Recommend getting a winch cover, because of the synthetic line. Water and sun are not good for it.

Thank you. Surprisingly, the guys at MP said that UV for their synthetic line has not been a problem. I did read that they coat their line with polyurethane for added chemical and UV resistance. Still, because a standard run of the mill winch cover will not fit on my winch with it being in such close quarters with my grill and bumper, I might just make something out of a section of thin black rubber, (like roofing style) or other, to make a flap that will go around the line on the drum and attach some way or another.

It might be coated but definitely not proof. You could make one out of a tarp. Cut it into size and get a tarp grommet kit from Home Depot. So when you cut it. You can make new holes.

I’m saying this because safety harness, aren’t even uv protected. And water is big issue. So just protect it by putting a cover. After all. It’s very important item.

Smittybilt sells a cover for their xrc winches. I just removed the rope that goes through the holes to make it tight. Because it wouldn’t fit over my x2o

Gonna be installing some heated seats today! Tear up the upholstery and install the heating pads with an included wiring harness and switch!

Also installing a microphone mount for the CB in the dash!

Got some LED dome and map light bulbs from superbrightleds.com and OEM corner lamps for a kick-ass price from a member (one of mine cracked). Doubt I'll be installing any of them today since it's like 10 degrees out.

Welcome in a brand new World: the one of being able to see something in the cab at night. I installed LEDs in place of all the cab stock bulbs, best mod I've ever done.

I put LEDs in my dad's '08 Honda CRV dome and map lights...one LED-equipped map light is much much brighter than both stock lights combined, maybe a little too bright..."I wear my sunglasses at night" type of bright :thumb3:

I had Philips LEDs in the 4Runner's dome lights before, really nice color but no brighter than stock. Another problem was they didn't offer a "bayonet" type bulb for the domes, most of the online "bulb type lookup" mistakenly list "wedge" type for the maps. Same with the brand I have in the CRV, no matching bayonet LEDs. All the reviews were positive for these superbright ones so I'm crossing my fingers.

Installed these today. Wow that was a pain in the ass pressing out the old joints. Didn't even have time to align it today. Also, as of right now before alignment, I'm not even close to rubbing on the D setting.
