I mailed off the climate control to be fixed by the forum member that does the repairs, so my truck will sit on any day that less than 50° outside since I won't be able to have any ventilation until I get the controller back.

Swapped out my broken transfer case for a new one and used the parts from the old one to build a wall decoration for my girlfriend.

Driving the last block and a half to my house yesterday and the '99 suddenly broke into a loud exhaust noise. Drove it the rest of the way home, left it idling, got out to look. After a little puzzling it turned out that the front O2 sensor had popped clean off. Two nice clean studs still there, I'm thinking the nuts simply rusted away to nothingness.

I figure at 219K miles I should just go ahead and put a new O2 sensor on instead of getting nuts and a gasket and bolting the old one back on.

when you get snow storms like that, do you still have to go to work? is it common to not go to work in conditions like that? being in AZ, it's all year round work... would be nice to have a snow day.

I worked for the Velo News as a writer out there, so I had leeway to say I was working when I may not have been. The lush, however, was a bakery manager so she would put on snowshoes and park her Grand Am about 1/2 mile away in order not to get snowed in. Or if she knew inclimate weather was coming, she would crash in one of the apartments above the bakery.

On the East Coast people can go into panic mode. Sometimes it is just hype but this storm has been different. I am working from home today, lots of ice on the road and don’t want to take out another fence or something much more costly today.

We go into total panic mode over anything now it seems. Everything got cancelled, closed, and shut down for Hurricane Irma last year. I'm 300 miles straight line distance from the Gulf of Mexico... It rained here for a couple hours and that was it. It wasn't even windy.

When there is a chance of snow in the forecast schools and businesses start closing days in advance. Schools here get delayed for "extreme" cold, just about anytime the weather drops below 25*.

Most of the time it's hype like Little Caesar said, but that's because a big storm comes through and actually does damage and no one is prepared at all. So that's what everyone remembers and is afraid of.

Aligned my rig after the SPC UCA install. I started with setting D for caster, maxed out the caster on the LCA and set camber at the UCA then did toe. Took it for a drive and wasn't fully satisifed however it was a ton better than before.

So, I changed the upper ball joint to C then readjusted camber and toe. I need to fine tune the toe tomorrow cause the wheel is slightly to the right when going straight, however it drives SO much better than before. I have wheel return again and it just feels more solid overall. Drives way better over bumps as well. Also, plenty of wheel clearance in the wheel well.

Current alignment specs:
Camber: 0.1 0.1
Caster: 4.3 4.0
Toe: 0.12 0.11

Installed used fleabay ABS harness on front pass side wheel, no more ABS light ! I got the 2 rear recovery loops off of the frame, the drivers side pretty much destroyed the internal nuts so now I have to figure out how to reach some nuts into the frame. The hitch is physically on now, just can't use it until I get it secured better on the DS.

Installed a new, genuine Toyota oil fill cap because the o-ring seal on my original was as hard as the plastic around it and it was a weep spot/ongoing oil leak

[MENTION=95183]octanejunkie[/MENTION], Just wondering. It's your money of course, but why would you spend $15 to replace a $1.50 O-ring. It is a off the shelf size Buna N O-ring nothing more. Though the new cap does look good, you could of had a bagel n coffee with fixing a oil leak. :tea:
