Installing LBJs. Thought I was being smart and cleaned the threads in the knuckle/spindle with a tap. Re-used the old bolts. Driver's side went together fine. Went to torque the first of the 4 bolts on the passenger side, and this one was taking what felt like too much torque. Tried backing them all out and the bolt in question won't back out, it just sits there and spins in place. I'm thinking I'll remove the spindle and put a helicoil in that hole. Either way, very distracted by this atm.

Replaced the upstream 02 sensor and put in a new stereo.

Drill it out. And get new bolts. And locktite. Go up a size if you have to on the stripped one - sounds like you already have tools on hand to do that. Seems much simpler to me than removing the spindle

The cross camber is giving me a hard right pull. Time for more parts...

Also picked up a set of Daystar rear bump stops to save my rear shocks from over compressing. I just need to cut some tube rectangular tube to lower them towards the axle.

having my front coils/struts assembled at a shop today for $60.

then prepping for upper and lower ball joint replacement, suspension install front and rear. All should be done by Monday or Tuesday. EXCITED.

They should at least be able to get the L/R balance pretty close. Looks like you might have a stuck adjusting cam on the right side?

Sleep/Storage platform

I’ve finally finished up my sleeping/storage platform

Final cost Approx 180$ to build 80$ memory foam matress and another 100$ in bedding. Total 360$ but damn its comfortable. It is also completely removable or I can just leave the storage boxes on the sides.

Today I ordered new tires after doing lots of good, level-headed research on the topic... then preceded to have nearly instantaneous buyers remorse. I initially ordered the Cooper Discoverer AT3 (and I'm sure it IS a fine tire and all), but I don't know man... something just wasn't sitting right and I wasn't very excited after spending a fair amount of money on my beloved 4Runner; so I cancelled that and ordered 5 BFG AT/KO2's in 265/75/16. Am I crazy?

Personally, I think you're crazy. On my Tacoma I went from KO2's to AT3's. Never been happier.

I see several people here like the AT3’s a lot. I’ve never had Cooper’s so I can’t really judge for myself there, but I’ve had various BFG’s over the years on different vehicles and always had good luck. The AT3’s were going to be just shy of a grand all said and done, and I only paid a little more for the BFGs after finding a better deal (CostCo; gotta love CostCo). The main thing causing me buyers remorse on the Coopers was that - despite the sales guy telling me it’s good in the snow - it’s not as highly rated as the BFG in the snow. Maybe I am crazy; I’m sure that passenger tire rated AT3 rides nicer than the E-rated KO2 though.

Changed oil/filter and air filter. Cleaned engine and underside. Nothing too exciting but necessary.
