What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Since last weekend it's been real sluggish on startup.. Felt like it was barely able to turn over. Pushed it all week long and she continued to start up each day.
Finally went and got the battery tested today and determined that it was shot.
Got a new Interstate battery from Costco and I'm all good again. :yo:

Got over 5 years out of the previous one.. that's not too bad, right?

Took some adderall (dont worry its RX) and scrubbed the underneath with a can of wd40 and toothbrush :wink2: I took the flywheel cover off to see where a slight bit of oil was leaking from, I thought it was the rear seal but it was just residue from when the valve cover gaskets were leaking a couple years ago.

Cleaned all the gunk off it and no more oil drops. I noticed the flywheel dust gasket thingy had basically disintegrated so I ordered a new one.

is the fob fairly ez to program?...ive had some confusion programming them so ive just lived my keys, but would really enjoy returning to a remote.

Be EXTREMELY careful with the adderall, my cousin just had a marriage go south on him because his wife became addicted to it. With serious help, no meds and exercise, she is much better now than in January.

new key fob today. not sure it’s worth the $30 but looks cool and hopefully it keeps my toddler from hitting the red button all the time.

I agree with the $30 is a little steep. Definitely $20 would be prime and the company would be getting thousands of orders.. That being said, I think the pricing is probably strategic to keep orders down to a manageable level given the small nature of the business producing them.

I personally love mine though. Although $30 was a little high, I can't help but recall all of the times in my life I have wasted $30 in much worse ways than this sweet key fob I see and touch every single day. hah. :yo:

Valid point. I spent nearly $20 the other day on Panera and I only ordered a coffee and a sandwich, lol. Place is a ripoff.

Hah, that's so funny. I had the same AAA battery that lasted 4 years and I also went with a Costco battery. Can't beat their prices.

The brake wasn’t working right on this winch so I took it apart and wound it up so t works correctly. Once you figure out how it works it’s quite easy.

Yes it's nothing to mess around with without a lot of research, doctor guidance and strict therapeutic dosing. I'm glad she was able to recover.

My other main hobby besides 4runners is neuroscience, nootropics and smartdrugs. It's literally amphetamines... and 75% dextro isomer which is extremely close to meth (users can't tell the difference in experiments). I've been using it for a while and it does help with ADHD, it brings me up to normal level, it sort of shuts down the over-thinking part of the brain (default mode network) and redirects the energy to the the executive functioning part (pre-frontal cortex). It lets me actually finish projects, and sometimes even cleanup after myself and put my tools back where they go. I don't like it compared to caffeine or nicotine. It's really hard on the body and sleep quality and I don't get any mood boost like from a coffee or cigarette, just focus. Don't really notice anything when I take it until I look back and see that I've actually finished things I started.

Had her for a week now and just swapped the fuel filter and tightened up all of the throttle cables. Wow, what a difference that made. I haven't had a car with throttle cables in 13 years. I forgot how those things loosen up over time but I love the feel of a true throttle cable.

I’d say fairly easy. There are instructions around. Just takes a little cadence and patience. Took me all of 10 minutes to do mine.

Installed steering wheel cover...4 spoke, pain in the arse around spokes to pull tight.

Ordered everything needed to rebuild my front end upper and lower control arm bushings (needs the lowers), upper ball jonts, inner tie rod ends and the power steering reservoir o ring ( gonna do a flush and clean) Figured at hitting 190k might as well do it all.

LBj's, OTRE's, 99 talls and kyb's Energy suspension rack bushings and sway bar bushings and links I did I did about 30k ago so not doing them again at this time.
TBU, stainless lines front and back and swapped in elocker last summer, so I'm getting there on what I want.
