What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Kelowna Pick N' Pull. They had 2, a 96 LTD, pretty much stripped, and the 2000 SR5---- it had only been there for a few days thank goodness... It is sad to see these trucks come to such an ignominious end. One suffered a fatal front end collision and the other had been rolled. Sorry, neither were white!

Pick and pull way out in The Wack has a white one but they won't tell me if it has a fender. Gateway in langley has 30+ of them but no white ones!!! Maybe I'll have to resort to car-part.com but shipping a fender must be outrageous.

Got some new front fender liners and a driver's side seatbelt.

I'm not sure the parts are correct thigh as I can't seem to get the holes to line up. Can anyone tell me if my parts are correct and possibly point me to an install post or something. My search on the forums isn't returning anything super useful.

Tell me more! Hand feeding the belt back in is annoying, but not $233 annoying...

Toyotaeparts or whatever has the belt for about $190 or so. I just replaced my driver side one with a brand new one. Old one was starting to shred itself on a side.

I will need to post some pics. I took the interior completely out, even head liner and cleaned everything. Cloth off the seat foam and covers in the sink clean!! LOL
Put a new Pioneer double din. back up camera new 6.5" speakers in front and 5.25 in backdoor. had to get spacer rings and grinding on plastic to get cover back on. Alpine amp under the driver seat. Pioneer has blue tooth and I ran the mic wires up A post and dropped right above the rear view mirror. Ran all the new speaker wires inside the flexible plastic the stock wires are in.
Getting the wires for back up camera through the plastic on top of hatch was NOT easy.

Got a screaming deal on a slightly used set of 265/75R16 BFGs. Fits great on the stock height with only the teeniest bit of inner plastic trimming -- we'll see if more is needed after some real flexing.

Also put the Rock Mtn rack to good use moving a friend's mattress. Always nice to justify purchases like that

Axles!

Spent all weekend trying to chase down a rattling noise that has been torturing me for months. I thought it was play in the CV axles, but replaced them (warranty) today, radial play is gone and still the noise persists. A high pitched metal rattling noise when I go over bumps. I've checked or replaced almost everything else besides sway bar bushings and lower control arm bushings, both of which seem fine...

The joys of owning old vehicles...

Back at it

Tune up is almost done finally got spark plugs and wires in and new lift gate arms(6185) as well as white gauges and amber leds for all gauges. Also got a new kenwood radio and installed it and somehow I promptly broke it. Also finally fixed my RS3000 and now my keyless entry is working.

Planning on pulling carpet when I go to do rust cleanup and prevention. Then relay the carpet plus some sound deadening. Also finally get around to build my drawer system.

Going to Denver this week for work so for now the runner is chillin.

PS did go up and play in the aftermath of snow-magedon. Didnt take to many pics of the truck though.

Swapped rims and tires today. Off came the 17s and MTs and on went the factory 5-star and ATs - probably 3 months late in doing it but whatever.

Also did my first oil change in 15 months after about 30K miles. Just under 6 quarts came out and the same amount of Mobil 1 Full Syn went in with a new WIX 51348X filter. I collected a sample per Blackstone Labs' instructions and will be sending it off for analysis.

I took this opportunity to install the fumoto valve I got with my RCI skids.

Yesterday I changed oil on the 4Runner and X3. Today 3/4 cars got washed, including the 4Runner.

I also ordered a set of Savage Offroad skids. Looking forward to those.

Ok. Am I just really effing stoned and reading this wrong? You running 30k mile intervals between oil changes? Or are you just saying it’s been 30k since you did it yourself?

Got a bug up my ass (after working on it earlier in the day) to look at the cabin blower motor and see why my dash decides to try and rip itself apart when I turn it up past anything beyond low.

Think I found the problem. Decided to clean it real good with a toothbrush and water. Letting it dry and will put it back together tomorrow.

Over the weekend I learned how NOT to install fuel injectors.... after replacing coil pack 1, all 6 plugs, wires, and injectors 1,3, and 5, then removing, replacing the o-rings, and reinstalling said injectors again, my misfire finally seems to have quit

I kept looking at this picture trying to figure out what's wrong, and it finally hit me - no one transports a mattress without the old "hand out the window to hold down the mattress" approach, especially if you get on the freeway!

I finally got around to uploading some pictures of the white gauges and radio install. Also fixed what i broke on the radio during install. With everything tuneup wise done and some good ole seafoam action my knock has pretty much subsided and she is running great!

picked up two junkyard seats from a 00 sr5 that was delivered the same day. great shape. also grabbed the front end, headlights,corners and grille.

just a little cleaning to these fabulous condition seats.

Tossed a CB in my truck for my upcoming trip to Moab. Figured I'd be better off having a CB as a backup means of communicating.
