What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Fixed the rear window, turned out to be a broken trace in the switch board and broken wires at the body/tailgate joint.

So, I had this issue a few months back where when I opened the rear hatch then closed it, it would open my rear window! i checked inside the door, the switch, the control module for the door, nothing seemed broken. It would do it any time, power on, power off... unless i physically disconnected the motor. One day I ran a cut off switch for the motor because i was so tired of it doing whatever it wanted to do.
A couple of months later, I went to replace the wiring retainer for the hatch wiring that I broke installing the cut off, and the rubber covering had come off. When i pulled that off to get it back on correctly, it was apparent that a few wires had frayed and were making contact. So, when id open the hatch then close it, it would trigger the relay used for the remote and open the back window.

kind of crazy what a few frayed wires can do...

a little of this... a little of that...

Removed seats, cleaned all of the carpets with super clean and a brush, then used the extractor with Tide water, and a fresh bucket of tide water and a microfiber to clean the rear seat covers. Replaced the front seat covers with new Wet Okole full-piping neoprene covers (same as before, old ones were a little frayed on the edges) and also changed out the torn center console cover. Looking fresh and clean once again. :reddance:

Installed a pair of Overland Shooters

After a 9-week lead time, I finally received a pair of knob extenders from 4xKnobz.com. I was getting so tired of reaching to adjust the temp and fan settings while wheeling hard, that I finally broke down and ordered a pair of 2.5" Shooters. $80 for the pair might seem steep, but it's great not having to adjust my lean to use the controls. The fit is great, too - they slid right on.

This morning I passed a CA 'Star' smog check with flying colors and walked out of AAA with my 2022 sticker within the hour. My reg would have gone bad on Tuesday. Not bad considering I had a P0420 CEL a couple weeks ago. It's not the end of the world if the ECU tells you your Cat is failing - sometimes you just didn't tighten the clamps on the MF cat-back exhaust well enough and the downstream o2 sensor picked up on some extra oxygen. Thanks to a comment in another thread here - that tuned out to be the easy fix.

We have these on my bike forums and didnt find one here with the search. So lets get this started. As the title states, what did you do to it today?
just got a new 3rd gen, 270k miles, 1999, but guy before me replaced the upper and lower control arms, shocks and struts, rear springs, new cats, and evaporator core right before I bought it, running great took it off-roading right after I bought it, ran great ended up breaking a shock which was worth it, currently have taken off stock fenders, back and front bumper and back seats, looking for a front bumper

Nice! Welcome aboard

Tried to get an alignment and bring out my caster some, JBA said you should be able to get 3-3.5 degrees easy but Les Schwab couldn't get more than 1.5. Pretty disappointed in that regard but they feel incredible.
Edit: dude comes out and tells me they can't get more than 1.5 degrees because the camber was maxed out. I asked for no camber and as much caster as possible then - 10 minutes later he comes out telling me they got it to 3.3/3.0 :thumb:

Started this stuff weeks ago but decided to start sanding and repaint the steering knuckles and got bored quickly. Need to finish that today.

Needle bearing replaced teflon bushing, new oil seal:

New passenger side oil seal. I used this taped press adapter as a depth gauge:

Old UBJ with 245k on it:

One of the new SPC UBJ arrived with a nicked boot so had to wait for Summit Racing to send a new boot, they sent me 2 new boots and an enexpected $60 certificate for the hassle! Great service.

I don't know what I'm doing with these tbh. They are 3 spares I have lying around which I started cleaning up:

Tapped M8 threads for the brake line bracket. I discovered they sell JIS hex bolts at Menards, which have smaller heads than US metric, so their heads are 12mm like the Toyota M8s:
