What did you do with your 4runner today?

I still have to figure out how to permanently mount the head unit in the front console, but all the wiring is in place now, I can hear the audio over the in-car speakers and everything else generally works...

so while changing my swaybar bushings, i noticed the rubber boot of the inner tie rod was torn. searched on rockauto and amazon, but could not locate the boot.
would appreciate a heads up to where i can buy the boot online.

any serious downsides to not replacing the torn boot asap?

Tie rods are so cheap, just replace the whole thing. It literally will take you less than 30 minutes. You don't even have to remove the tire. You don't know what state that teeny ball is in inside that torn boot.

I'm curious about this as well. When I bought my "complete" Moog tie rods from Rockauto, they did not come with boots. I re-used the old ones since they were still in good shape. Wondering if there's a source for these or if other brands come with the boot...

Ohhhhhhh! My bad! The boot that looks like a shock boot! Derrr...
Anywho, might need to look up the part number at the dealership or online then do some searching that way. May be able to get one off a wrecked truck at a scrap yard for next to nothing too. You also may be able to repurpose a shock boot.

Towed my first trailer with it this weekend. Did great with 3 people, 100+ lbs of gear and 900-ish lbs of bike/trailer behind it! Could barely even feel it.

new tierods dont come with the boots.
@bolded statement...is it true?.

amazon threw the rear shock boots at me when i was searching for the tierod boots...
so they can be used interchangably?

Icon extended 2.5 resi's up front with total chaos uca's. metal tech long travel rear springs with extended travel icons to match, in the rear(not sure if I'm happy with that set up yet). Metal tech rear upper & lower control arms w/ extended brake lines. RCI skids front to back incl rear differential.
Set of OPOR sliders sitting in my shop waiting to be painted and installed along with arb twin compressor, manifold and arb rear locker.
CBI rear swing out bumper on order. I had them put some custom kick outs on the side so I may not see it until mid march. Have a Baja trip at the end of march so here's to hoping it shows up before then[emoji16]
I picked this V8 t4r w/ 200k up for cheap and its super clean
