Installed the ARB roof top tents and awnings. I misplaced two bolts, so my awning is going on today. Plus packing up!

Replaced the smaller inner CV boot clamp on each side. I used Precision Brand Smooth Band Worm Gear hose clamps. Of course I got the idea from this great forum.

Here is their description:
Series 400 stainless steel band helps provide resistance to corrosion and wear
Zinc-plated carbon steel screw resists rust
Smooth form band helps provide even pressure around the hose
Pressed tooth form and rounded, raised band edges help prevent damage to the hose

Not today, but yesterday. I've suspected frozen calipers for a long time, but havne't taken a first hand look.

Bottom left piston. F**king frozen.

So then, I'm a huge fan of using OEM parts, but no doubt it will cost a fortune not to mention many say EVEN NEW calipers WILL eventually fail. I've had bad luck with aftermarket, so .............even so, I'm looking at upgrading to 5thgen calipers (rockauto). Might swap out the rear calipers too. They look very "crusty" so pretty sure they might be killed.

I got 5th gen from rockauto. I also painted them this time around to prevent or slow any surface rust that could potentially cause a repeated frozen caliper. That was august. I'm due to bleed the brakes and see what this salty winter has done to them

Yes, I remember seeing that some recommend painted them to prevent rust forming. Just a shame seemingly no one outside of the OEM supplier makes them so they don't rust. Even bigger shame (very stupid) that even replacing with OEM, the problem will persist. I still can't believe Toyota continues to make these problematic brakes.

Finally got around to some lighting mods I have been putting off for way too long. I put in an underhood light that actually works a lot better than expected. (Sorry no night pictures) I also installed a rear fuse block behind the drivers tail light. I also installed auxiliary reverse lights. That helped a lot when backing up.

For those that are interested, it appears this owner bolted on an N-Fab FJ bumper. Not sure if it would need modification or not but its definitely not the run-of-the-mill 4Runner bumper.
He's also asking his CB antenna to get ripped off on a trail.

Took off those plastic running boards on my new to me 2007 galactic grey sport 4x4 with 144k. Paid 11k thought I got a good deal as it is clean inside and out. Paint condition is in really good shape. Some surface rust but nothing too bad.
