What did you do with your 4runner today?





Did the grill and wheelies as a mock up. I want them powdercoated now...


Except my 4runner is 2wd. So I'm trying to sell it and buy another in the exact same color and trim that's 4wd ;)


It's gonna be a hard bargain. Car has a new driveline (trans, shaft, motor), so I hopefully can sell it for more than a 06 sport with 114k... but I don't know. Car loans suck!!

Thankfully the UCA bolt wasn't frozen, so it slid out really easily!

Made sure to put lots of extra grease inside before putting the boot on. Don't want this to happen again

Took it for a test drive and my God does it feel like a new truck! It doesn't wander anymore, no more rattles over bumps, and no more squealing when going over bumps or turning. I'm happy it went well!

Oh, and the culprit was a torn boot in like 3 places.

Im honestly shocked you dont have aftermarket for how lifted you are.

My angles are pretty good actually. They sit about level when they have the truck's weight on the suspension. It could be better, and I would definitely like to get something better, but for now I'm happy with these :)

Hey hey hey wise guy, I still get my truck in spec for alignment and 33's wear evenly. No sense dropping cash on new UCA's when these do just fine for what I need.

I get plenty of up travel and a decent amount of down travel. That's all I need. It's not like the 5100's are a super long travel coilover setup or anything. They actually kinda suck for flexing. When I decide what I'm gonna do lift wise, I might get aftermarket, but til then I think these will be more than adequate.
 
Have to go to Denver today, no problem I love to drive except I have to take Greg's Runner. Don't get me wrong I love me some 4Runners thats why we have 2 but his is plain and boring.

Maybe I should stop telling him to do something to it and do it for him :eyebrows:

Dayum shooter! :eek: 102 degrees difference between inside and out! Yesterday it was 70 degrees where I live and forecasted for the same today. I'm surprised the 49ers were even able to function at Lambeau Field.

Btw, I'm envious of that 329 mi range you have there. I haven't seen anything over 300 since mine was new. 270ish seems to be the norm for me on a full tank these days.:(

Hmm .. Same size tires and all? I am sure it is but not by THAT much, in terms of lbs.

Mileage on both the same? meaning are the suspension components starting to sag/age?

Tires are the same size, about the only differences are V8 to V6 and I took my running boards off but I don't think that will make mine sit what looks like 1/2 inch higher than his. He has 2 or 3k miles over me.

Seriously though I think it's a question of suspension components(use prior to taking ownership), and of course the weight of the v8.

Either way, Enjoy the sound of the V8 :tea:
