Just saw a funny sight and had to share
Man shoveling snow from the front and back of the tires of a Nissan Pathfinder while the woman sat in the drivers seat. We have maybe an inch of snow. He was guiding her to get going…..Im glad I was almost home and not out on the roads with her.
The roads were kinda nasty at times today but yet again our amazing 4Runner kicked azz…….oh how I love my truck.
Now for the rest of the evening we get free entertainment of watching rear wheel drive vehicles try to make it up our street

The Radio was tapped into the main reverse line near the dead pedal under the steering column. The dead unit would switch to the Camera when entering reverse, then switch back to it's previous function when exiting from the reverse gear. It was the video feed which wasn't coming through. In order to get the video feed to work, the actual RCA input has to be pushed on (I tried jiggling the cable, tried a new cable, nothing. The only thing that would make an image appear would be to take the RCA input and apply force to it so that it would budge).
The radio did flip back and forth to camera on/off.
Yeah, I'm probably going to create another connection and bring the wire up to the front where there is a lot of places to ground (unless you know if a good place by the rear driver side tail light/jack storage area).

Appling force to anything is not the way to make it work. it probably worked when you did that because the camera is tring to get a ground to turn on thru the RCA negative shield since you have a bad ground for the camera. My suspicion is the new radio would do the same thing when you get it in.
As for the ground? the whole vehicle is a ground.
use one of these on the end of the cut wire
and one of these to make your new hole and screw it in , in the back new the jack.
BTW- i am only trying to help since i do this stuff everyday all day. i have these radios in stock and over 35 backup cameras in stock. I do see my share of these radios, and i rarely if ever see a problem like this being a radio.
what would have worked to test, another video source that you could dump into that port. here is a trick so you know next time.
-put dvd movie in
-play movie
-run a rca from video out to camera in
-trigger reverse input
this will test if your camera input works

The gist of my reading over the years has led me to believe that removing the rear sway bar is not a good idea.
What' I've read has said that the flex gained isn't huge, the added sway on the road is much more, and if you flex it out, the rear coils can pop out.

Yeah, that's what I've read too, but I have two bolts sheared off on the bracket (on the axle side) so the sway bar hasn't been doing much at all. I don't think I'm gonna lose the coils (esp. since I'm running superflexes, 2" taller than stock) and the 5100s should limit my travel enough that the coils will stay put. I'm doing some modding with a buddy with a garage on feb. 7th so I'll try and get those bolts replaced - I want to knock off the welded nuts on the back and replace it with a standard nut/bolt, but I can't get them with a regular hammer and chisel and have enough force to get a good smack and I don't have an air compressor at school with me so I'm gonna try an air hammer at his place. If that doesn't work, bye bye rear sway bar since I'm wheeling the next day and I don't want it to fly out of place again...
