What did you do with your 4runner today?

Tried to figure out why my steering wheel is clacking. Tried the fixes where you adjust the slip yoke and tighten a nut down my the floorboard, neither worked. It sounds like its coming from inside the steering column. Heres a video to better explain the sound. Any ideas? Thanks

I've got the same issue. I think my steering spacer from the BL is loose.

It still drives fine it's just annoying. Or maybe I just have OCD. I don't have a body lift or anything so I don't know what it could be. But I've snooped around the best I can and can't find anything wrong. It sounds like its coming from right below the steering wheel hub, but it took apart the column and didn't find anything. May take off the wheel when I get the time. If you find a fix let me know! :frusty:

Went and played around a little off road. The 255's are a tight fit once it starts flexing. Can't wait to get it lifted.

Nice. Those MTRs are good looking tires. Itll look even better once you get it lifted.

Btw, I see you're from either Nashville or Cookeville (and a Kappa Sig)...any chance you're also a Golden Eagle?

Thanks, I think it'll look pretty good lifted too. Atleast I hope so. And yes, I'm a Kappa Sig at Tennessee Tech!

Mine rattles over bumps, and I have way too much play in the wheel. It sounds the same, but I can feel the click in my feet on the floor. Not something that makes me feel safe. I'll have to get under the dash at some point and snug up that spacer. See if that does any good

Got out of work early Wednesday and have spent the last two days enjoying this rare white stuff we don't see that much. finished the night up with a little kayak/snowboard towing action lol

Outside of Philly, we got hit with a bad snowstorm. We got about 12"+. Anyway the bobcat that was clearing out our lot wouldn't start. Jumped him, started right up. Because of the exhaust pipe on the bobcat, I got blasted in the face with diesel exhaust. Day before that, a neighbors Ford Fusion wouldn't start. Jumped him too with my 4Runner.

Good deeds for the year: Done.

Yep, we got nailed too. Easily 12+" of wet, heavy snow.

Cookeville was a nice little town and, although I haven't been back there in a while, i'm guessing it's still the same. And I wasn't a Kappa Sig myself, only knew a few and recognized the sticker.

I'm accounting and planning to go to graduate school for an MBA too. I have connections and could possibly get in at Vanderbilt but I'm not banking on that. Second option would be Alabama since both of my parents are alumni and I really wanted to go there but it's just too expensive out of state.

Exactly, it was just big enough. It was really close to home too as i'm actually from a small town about 45 min from cookeville. Although I will admit, I was getting a little stir-crazy after having been there for 5 years but wouldn't mind going back now. Made a lot of good memories in that town.

I really miss all those waterfalls too. I've been meaning to go back and visit them all for the last 3 years but have yet to actually do it. Cummins Falls was my favorite but its nothing like it used to be before the big flood and now thats its a state park. It was way better when it was a "secret spot" (no signs but everyone knew where it was) with the rope climb down to the falls. One thing Cookeville is lacking is a Mountain Bike scene though. I always thought that would've been awesome but don't think there's enough interest locally to build any good trails.

I was Finance undergrad and also graduated the MBA program with a concentration in Finance. I had several other schools in mind for my MBA at the time but ultimately decided to stay there. Vanberbilt is an amazing school but it comes with an equally impressive price tag. I'm sure you already know all this but one has to consider the ROI for a school like that. However, when trying to get into certain networks/workplaces in Nashville, a Vandy grad definately has a leg up. Just have to weigh your options.

Cummins falls is beautiful area. Same with Burgess Falls. Theres a bunch more small ones too that are pretty neat. But if you're ever up in Cookvegas just give me a shout and we can meet up or something. Have you ever been to Golden Mountain Off Road Park? I'm planning to go when it warms up and I get a few more things done to the runner. Theres also a place out by Center Hill that has some pretty good trails, and mud holes, but you have to be careful cause one of the holes is anywhere from 4-6 feet deep..it's ruined a bunch of peoples days.

And since this is a 4runner forum, I'll bring up another point, and one of the main reasons I love mine so much. You spent time in Cookeville, and sure it's like this in other areas, but there's endless amounts of modded Jeeps and Trucks and even Tacomas, but hardly any modded 4th gen 4runners. Mines not that modded yet because I'm working with a college kid budget, but I look forward to having one of the only modded 4gens in the area (at least that I've seen) when I'm done one day. I had a Wrangler before this and while it was a great vehicle there was two in this small town that were nearly identical.

Haha :hello: and yes they are. I found em on craigslist and paid 200 for them...not too bad in my book. I actually really like how they look too! They need a good cleaning but it seems every time I clean it I go off roading again so it's a never ending battle.
