What did you do with your 4runner today?

Installed my cb radio. It's a cobra I got at Walmart, I'll only use it when off roading. Tried to get as clean of an install as I could, used Velcro for mounting instead of drilling into my interior panels. I ran the antenna wire back to the cargo area under the kick panels and left it, I'll run a magnetic antenna on the roof when I use the cb. I'll also be installing a PA speaker soon. It's my first time installing one but I think it looks halfway decent.

Also decided to change my cabin filter, as I haven't since I got the vehicle. I'm no expert but I think it was about time to change it..

Greased my u-joints via the zerk fittings on them today, seemed to help with most of the driveshaft "clunk" that I was getting at stoplights.

[MENTION=103375]unlimitedFJ4[/MENTION], that's a nice rig! I'm just beside myself as to why the guy would turn a clean and straight 1st gen into a flat bed. Why not buy a pre-taco and flat bed that? This is sacrilege

I definitely don't know why he did it, but it's unique I wasn't to fond of it at first but its growing on me and it looks pretty cool I plan to either weld a 3/8 piece of steel to make it a cab with a stock sliding taco window, or making the cab enclosed with a 2-3ft deep canvas cover around the roll bars with snaps making it similar to an army truck going to get it vinyl wrapped FJ cruiser army green or desert camp it's my new rubicon rig/daily driver

Not hating on the truck at all. I just don't understand why you would remove the coolest 4Runner feature and cause a lot more hassle in modding when you could buy a sealed single cab and just pull the bed off

I don't know the way they cut the cab was super clean though, I think he wanted to stand out alot of guys have standard 1st gen runs and alot of guys have the toyota pickup flat bed, I think he was trying to be creative with his build but never finished and ran out money/time he wanted a house so he let it go for 3800:lol:

[MENTION=98814]jsmith21[/MENTION] Looks like a clean install, however, I'd recommend getting a real mic holder. I use them everyday at work and I can guarantee you that the velcro will wear out very quickly. That panel is easy to pop off and safely put a couple screws through without hurting anything. If you don't want to drill it, use some velcro to attach a mic holder to the panel.

Had a piston in the driver side caliper freeze up on the way home from work. The passenger side one has been acting a bit odd too. So replaced them both for free under warranty and threw in new pads. 4th and 5th calipers I've replaced on this truck. Getting to be a pro.

Have you been doing complete fluid changes?

swap out my radio and flip out and dvd changer, put a new updated unit in
Pioneer DEH-80PRS
has all the things i need, plus it has usb and bluetooth that my DEH-p860mp didnt, along with 3 extra band in the eq, 16 vs 13. still need to figure out if i want to use this metra dash kit or the american international.

Yes - fluids were flushed the last time I did them. I'm using the NAPA remans...maybe they're just not up to snuff but I wouldn't be surprised if it was just this nasty winter we've had that did them in. At least they're under warranty.

You maybe better off adding 2 more brackets and using the velcro straps to hold it in place. that swing back and forth and hitting the side would start annoying me after a bit! Just a thought... but not a bad idea though.

Hasn't done it yet. Quiet on normal roads. Not a 4x4 though, other reasons for wanting it.

Nice install. What did you use to tap power off the fuse panel? I need to do something similar with my 2m. I'm going to mount it the same way but on the passenger side.

It's so new that I haven't had much experience with it yet but the drive to work was quiet. I forgot it was back there until I checked my phone this morning and saw post quotes lol. I don't do hard wheeling so I don't anticipate much banging around, though if it turns out bad I'll switch it up but I like it for now

I do lots of recoveries on beaches
Much stronger this way
