Not driving it

Since my mother in law didn't want to take her Yukon on vacation up north due to horrible mileage, we gave her my wifes '14 Forester. So now of course my wife can't drive our back up vehicle because its a manual(02 Outback 200k+ miles), so I now watched this morning as she pulled out of the driveway and drove off in the runner. I must say something cool to see your own truck in motion, but boy is it terrifying to see someone else drive it. So now I wait for a week until I can get back into my Toyota. I think I'm gonna be sick :beer::beer::sobbing::barf:

Picked up my Demello bumper from my friend's shop and brought it home to start prepping for paint. Should have it painted tomorrow but will wait till Thursday or Friday to mount, depending on the curing of the paint.....Woot!

De-badged the doors... Got all the glue off but a little shadow going on where the letters were. Any tricks to getting rid of that?

Made an appt for later this month to do the 5th gen brake swap, remove XREAS and install 5100/fj coils and install spidertrax spacers. Can't wait.

5th gen brake swap? My wife's 5th gen brakes are very responsive compared to the long pedal travel of my 4th gen. I wonder if this swap will fix the mushy brakes? I've already installed stainless steel lines front and rear, along with bleeding the system and fresh fluid. Keep us up to speed on the new brakes.

typically that would be paint fade.

You'll need to buff it with rubbing compound.

Finally talked to the body shop, my truck has been sitting for a week untouched. They were waiting on the insurance adjuster apparently. Going to give him a call and make sure that everything is on track, I want to get my damn truck fixed already!

Aw and welcome to the bodyshop business. The only thing I would say is if its not too big of a job either, the shop will sit on it waiting for the adjuster instead of actively pursing the insurance adjuster stating they have their estimate written and need them to review it. But yes light a fire under someone! :yo:

Added an Ultragauge MX 1.3, which shows transmission temperatures (and tons of other gauges) on my 2007 V8 4x4. Transmission temp works straight from the factory, provided you specify the Tundra/Tacoma CAN option.
