What did you do with your 4runner today?

OW 2.5 rear extended travel

Installed the OW/radflo 2.5 extended travel rear shock system last night LOVE IT!! the coils they sent were for the 2.0 set up so i didnt use them kept my HD rear OME coils. The ride softend up a bit and got a little more travel. waitin on my medic extended links and ill have that rear flexin allll day!!!

Branching off of what Jon just said;

I put Bilstein 5100's on the front and rear. Fronts were set at .85" and I used FJ coils. The rears just went in, I haven't gotten around to the FJ springs just yet.

Now this rear shock decided to bind with the mounting peg on the axle. Jon and I used breaker bars, fire, and 'universal persuasion devices'. Eventually after I burnt all the rubber off of the bearing, I was able to pop the shock off and twist the "bearing" off.

Lol, not as elaborate as the thought of me turning into the Hulk to "Smash bumper!!". Was sitting at a redlight and when it turned green a Rescue Squad truck was coming thru the intersection. I had this feeling that made me check out the rear view mirror and as soon as I did I saw the car right as it tagged me. I guess the guy's text that he was reading was more important. But it did not do anything to my truck but scuff the sticker off of the receiver and hitch. But it did punch a nice hole thru his front bumper. Ill never take that thing out as long as I live.

Picked up a new (to me) tool chest with the Runner. Left the runner in the driveway for about 3 hours while I straightened out the garage and organized the new chest.

Finished and went to pull the runner in, only to see 13, yes THIRTEEN spots of bird s***. Some were splatters too... So she got an un-expected quick bath...

Tomorrow is front brake/rotor day!

Installed new speakers all around and JL XD 600/6 amp.
It has taken 3 solid days to get this done and I still have 2 cargo panels to put back on but the stereo is in.

in small fender benders like that, the reciever hitch can save your bumper. however in a major accident you are more likely to do frame damage with the reciever hitch still in the draw bar. i've seen on occasion where the rear frame was twisted because of this rather than the bumper absorb the impact.

Speakers

Today I replaced the stock speakers in front with some 4" infinity, easy up grade. Earlier this week I replaced rotors,pads,bearings, races & seals on the front-end. I also had a flowmaster muffler installed, the old one had some holes in it.

I just looked at a few dealers and the used car website and there is one sport edition for sale in my area. So hard to find, V8 is rarely seen. I wouldnt mind trading for a V8 sport but I dont think I'll ever find one.

i saw a few when i was looking for my 4Runner about a month ago, just too pricey for my taste and i dont like the spoiler and hood scoop (i know call me crazy!)

Just take your time and it will happen. Don't "settle" for your ride or you will hate it every time you get in.
