Did my first oil change by myself!!!!!!! Took 2 hours, only mistake was not catching the excess when taking the filter off, now I know for next time. Thank you to everyone who answered my questions

You can use a Mobile 1 M301 oil filter on the V6 and it gives you another half quart of oil capacity and a little more filtration capacity.
I use it on my 4Runner and my wifes FJ

Saw somewhere that clear plasti dip on chrome makes it look like a flat silver color so I experimented on one of my handles where the black plasti dip was peeling off. I can't decide which way I like more. I'm leaning towards black. Definitely looks better than chrome though.

I like black. I wanna black out my door handles eventually. I ordered some plastic chrome covers last year that I was going to paint but never got around to doing it.

Ran into [MENTION=77155]bergs[/MENTION] on 93 in a sleet/snow storm traffic jam. Caught up with him while cruising slow haha. Haven't seen him in a while! Truck looks really good with the lift he put in over the summer.
Also a pic he sent me from his point of view lol
I also went drifting in a snowy parking lot and it was much easier to hold a line in 4WD than 2WD. Fun discovery. It was slushy/thick snow, so I needed the extra traction.

I've had that same idea. I was going to order the chrome covers and paint them nautical blue to match the rest of the vehicle. But then I plasti dipped them black and like that look too and it was way cheaper. Let me know if you ever get around to painting the chrome covers, how they turn out.

i always reach there to pull myself up, seeing as I'm 5'9 on a good day. if you're short, it serves a different purpose than the oh sh*t handles

makes sense. Just seems the one on the A pillar is lower, easier to reach? I have my mic in the front handle location. Works good because of my height.

im so used to the location cause thats where i had a handle in my last car, a subaru. i pulled myself out of it with that car, now i pull myself into it with the 4runner

It actually tucks in fairly bit identical to the passenger side..and ppl would always comment "hey your missing a grab handle"

Yea, there's no way you could get away with that. Honestly, I don't see how you even fit comfortably in the 4runner anyway given how tall you are. I feel cramped in mine and i'm just 6'2". :noidea:
I ended up doing the same thing and added the factory handle back a few years ago. I have never hit my head on it (yet) as it tucks in to the ceiling just like the passenger side. I just like the way it looks being symetrical and all but I do find myself using it a lot to hang on while i'm driving now that its there..

im quite comfortable actually. would be more comfortable if i didnt have a sunroof. With the seat bracket modification i did gained the headroom back from the sunroof.
