Installed Icon uppers and Energy Suspension lower poly bushings. The uppers were cake as expected but the lower bushings are just plain stupid. The amount of time spent trying to remove the factory rubber from the sleeve and the inner pins from the rubber is too much. Doing it myself was ok but I could not imagine paying someone for their time to do this. I wish they would sell proper flanged bushings and provide new sleeves. Just like what is provided with aftermarket uppers. O well they are on and it feels so much better. I did a quick toe alignment but need to fiddle with it some more tomorrow. I also added zerks to the lower arms to grease the bushings.

Started Sunday morning with a 5000 mile oil change. Such an easy job between Toyota putting the oil filter at the top of the engine and RCI designing the oil drain hole in the skid plate.

Used 6 quarts Mobile 1 Extended care and a Mobile 1 301 filter. It took 45 minutes to get it done but that included dusting off the intake on the engine and planning the relocation of my on board compressor to the firewall.

Good to go for another 5k

Ordered an aFe CAI and URD MAF Calibrator for her and picked up some LCA bolts in preparation for installing my new LCA's/LBJ's. Discovered URD is headquartered in DC......dangerous to my pocketbook for sure!

Great job with the LCA's! I did the time vs $ and ended up just ordering new factory LCA's. With the new LBJ's included for the price I was able to justify it to the boss (Mrs Montana_jeepn). My cams are frozen too so i am looking forward to seeing how she handles after a better alignment.

Ordered the POR-15 starter kit to give it a test run on the rear frame rails (since the rear bumper cover is already removed for other mods) just to make sure it works over this winter before ordering larger quantities for the entire undercarriage.

I hear nothing but great things about it, but I also heard nothing but great things about fluid film as well and it hasn't held up as well as I'd hoped. Fluid Film needs reapplied once a year (at least in areas with a lot of rain) in my opinion to be effective.

I'm a Mobil one full synthetic 5w30 fan did you switch to the extended from that? My 08 is still a baby with 110 on it just wondered if others were switching to the extended and if there was much difference I'm still a sucker for a Toyota filter but my station is across the street from a dealer so it's simple to get one.:smokin:

This was yesterday, but we took it to pick up our new "Tesla"!! We were in the market for a new SUV for the wife, and with the Toyota/Tesla partnership and the free charging at my work, it was a no brainer! Plus, it's ridiculously fast!

Did a little off roading with my dad in Hunt, Texas. Suspension is bone stock and it handled the trail pretty well. Doesn't mean we aren't going to upgrade it...

Still haven't installed the LED tail lights, will do that as soon as I get back into Austin.

how did u go about mounting your air comp.
i looked at mounting mine yesterday and looks like it will be a bit a fab to get it correct in my v8
and what comp u using
i have a vair 100 duty cycle

Took the kids camping on the Cape this weekend, did some light wheeling out on Race Point. My 16 YO son also got to drive on the beach, he was diggin it.


He also was diggin the 4WD Westy's wheelin on the beAch too!

I've yet to hit Race Point, but I'd love to be able to actually drive on dunes. I went to Sandy Neck with a few Tacomas a few years back but we weren't allowed on the dunes or berms

Well im done for the weekend and maybe the year for working on my truck
Did front and rear brakes, inner + outer tre's, uca, lca, alingment cams, cv's, shocks,springs, tire swingout, wired my new license plate light and ran wiring for new backup camera and reverse lights, painted underside of truck, greased everything

Mount tank and plumb it
Boot slide mod
Double water can holder
Add flag mount
Finish reverse camera
Install gorilla tires
Beat / cut everything to fit gorilla tires
Then a was and wax and interior detail
