What did you do with your 4runner today?

Spidertrax wheel spacers have been ordered.

Anyone have recommendations on some good rock sliders that are bolt-on? I'm looking at CBI but they are a little pricy.

Check out White Knuckle Off Road. I've had them for a while now and love them.

Today in the garage:
Did oil change on the 2005 with Mobil 1and a Bosch filter, plus new wipers. POR rust converter put on last year looks good! Waiting for 5100's, ordered them Saturday.

On the 2003:
Replace 2 9006 lights on drivers side.... Low beam and fog.

Taking the 2003 on a long hunting trip next week.

I had my 4Runner at NTB for the $19.99 oil change, they "tested" the PS fluid...said it "didn't meet industry standards". Truth be told, I have never flushed a PS system. However, I do 95% of my own repair work (and quite a bit for friends & family ad well), and can easily do this flush. But I figured hell, if its a $20 spot then I'd let them do it.....NOPE, they wanted $90 for this!!! Frigg that! Told them to leave it alone, I will take care of it....lol

When you do step 11 (filling and turning the wheel side to side) do you have the engine running or off?

Sounds like off to me. He mentions starting the engine in one of the later steps. I think this is why the front end is jacked up too...so it has no resistance while turning (with the engine off).

yes... if you read through the thread he clarifies further on step #11.. .

"As stated key must be in the ignition and turned to ACC to avoid steering lock."
engine is not running at any time during this flush.

Do NOT have the engine running. Ask me how I know! Then again, don't ask me, I dun screwed up.

I drove my neighbor's Highlander today. Soft soft steering @114K miles. I told him to flush the PS fluid because I know he wouldn't have done it otherwise. I couldn't even find the reservoir. I'm glad I don't own a Highlander.
