I would never go to the extreme to cover something in plastic! That's full blown OCD.. I just wait longer than most to take it off of brand new things :lol:

175 miles of city/town driving.... SUCH great mileage. My hybrid mod is paying for itself over and over!

I avg'd 17mpg last tank. stick that in your v6 and twist.
I changed my oil today. I forgot that it's a DD now and I went 7300 miles between changes. It's synthetic, so hopefully that saved me. I'm going to send a sample to Blackstone for analysis - for peace of mind more than anything. I'll go 7500 between changes if this analysis says I can.
I also have a magnetic drain plug. Absolutely nothing on it. So either it's not strong enough or my engine has no shavings floating around in the oil. I think it's a mishimoto. Nowhere near as strong as the Dimple I have on the BMW. If it has no shavings on it after the next oil change I'll either change it out for a Dimple or go back to OEM. The fact that it's an absurdly large bolt head makes me want to get rid of it anyway.

I changed my oil/filter as well today. All mobile 1 synthetic with a Bosch filter, also changed the transfer case fluid. One of the greatest ideas Toyota came up with is the oil filter catch on the later 4th generations and the under side drain nipple.
Funny thing was that while I was draining the transfer case, I opened the fill plug to allow the fluid to drain smoothly and it enthusiastically overshot the drain pan.
I hate how 75w90 smells. Grossly sweet and petroleum-y

Guilty of OCD lol, this is the one thing I always have to have plastic on and it's only because my nephews will ruin my beautiful table in about 2 seconds. Never thought about it twice until this conversation, something's wrong with me. Although in my defense I take the plastics off everything new immediately!

Went out and did some wheeling today
If I was stuck in the rain and the options were a .05cent plastic bag or a $50 hat then yeah the plastic bag would work. Not everyone has a bunch of money to spend. Why cant he use that until he has the money for weathertechs? I guess he should just let his carpet go to shit since he is just going to ghetto rig it right. He is in New York. I can imagine they are already salting the roads. If cheap saran wrap keeps that off my carpet great.

Trying to save up some money, so I'm waiting on ordering some full blown Weathertechs for now. Saran wrap was a cheaper, temporary solution to protecting from salt getting all over the carpet. It doesn't embarrass me that I did that for now. I'd rather have some plastic there than have to fight cleaning that dried up salt from the carpet

lol the picture is great! But it's one of those things you never notice because it keeps it from getting ruined by your nephews

Hey whatever works for you! I've never dealt with salt and hardly snow so I don't know the pain in the a$$ it can be
I drive in town to much. Drives me crazy too! I have to drive across town for everything and it kills my mileage. I still don't get but maybe 16 or 17 on the highway though.
That's about right for my in town too! LOL. I can't stand the little ol lady's and nancy's that can't seem to drive faster than 5mph around corners, and that think brake checking someone with 50 cars behind them is a great idea! I want to run them over, drag them out of their cars, tie my tow strap to their foot, and hit a two-track at 60 dragging them behind me!! ....ya, only a little rage there... :lasercannon:
