What did you do with your 4runner today?

got my TPMS system in. Wow, record time!! Anyway, just took it out and snapped some shots. Not sure when I'll install these in my 4R, but the one's for my DD honda Civic will be installed fairly shortly. Anyway, looks great!

Pretty sure I'll "resize" a blank on the driver's side dash panel. Thought about mounting on the center console, but I have plans for those spaces.....

As always, I'll report back!!

Do you think the sensors would be subject to abuse on a trail truck? I'd hate to knock one of those off on a rock etc. Otherwise it looks pretty cool. Have a brand/ link/ etc?

Good question. I have no idea. I imagine they are waterproof AT LEAST!!!! BUT, they don't look like they would take a beating on the trail. There is an alternative though, look for the model (same thing) that comes with the internal sensors. Problem solved!

But yeah, the only "toyota" specific pertains to the fitment of the display into a button slot. That's all. Aliexpress is like ebay, many vendors of the same crap, just different prices.

Very nice! That flex polisher is a nice unit. Using a good machine polisher makes a world of difference. I've had a porter cable 7424 for almost 10 years now and I love it. I use lake country pads on mine. Can't even remember the last time I hand waxed a vehicle. It's been over 10 years obviously.

One thing to remember with the machine polishers, is "less is more" using too much products can lead to more mess.

I suggest watching some videos on youtube to familiarize yourself with the techniques if you aren't familar. AMMO NYC has some good informative videos. Chemical guys have some ok videos but theirs are less instructional and more infomercial-esque.

I usually only do a paint correction about once a year (mainly bc my black truck shows it), clay bar twice a year, and then put a coat of NXT every 3-4 months for protection.

thanks for the tips... and yes I do plan to watch quite a bit of youtube before putting product to paint. I also am going to practice on our 2005 Corolla. It's my daily driver and its paint is in roughly the same shape as our 4Runners as all our vehicle sit outside currently... they're all well taken care of but there's only so much you can do by hand... leave residue, rain/ water spots etc over the last 3 years... next house will definitely have a garage, which will help immensely.

We've been getting sleet/snow/freezing rain for the last few days, culminating in last night's storm which dumped about 10" of snow, then turned to 8 hours of freezing rain. What a mess.

On the plus side, I've got to spend a lot of time driving around in 4WD and despite sort of sucky tires (link) it's been very surefooted.

Mid-snow clearing last night I ran out of gas for the snowblower :mmph: so I had to drive down to the gas station in the worst of it. Not a big deal. There was a Kia Soul in the Cumby's parking lot suck, hopelessly spinning it's tires. It was slippery frozen pavement under a blanket of heavy wet snow, ugly stuff.

Looking forward to getting some better tires on there but so, SO, happy to have a 4Runner again after a few winters with just low-slung cars.

I use the 3401. its a good machine, its a lot of torque though so you''ll have to get used to it. it starts dancing on you if you're not holding it properly but that will come with some experience with it. Youll love it. Its a monster for correcting. Ive corrected over 100 cars with it.

Wow I haven't heard anyone reference Cumby's since I was a kid growing up in New England. Used to hang out at the one down the street from my house. We used the payphone in the parking lot to make prank calls.
