I wasn't supposed to be home yesterday but I was and intercepted one of my Christmas gifts my wife bought. So now the 4Runner finally has Weather Tech mats.

Initially I balked at the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on floor mats. Once we did I can't imagine life without them, honestly probably some of the best money I've spent on that vehicle.

Yeah, my truck came with the mostly flat rubber mats but they don't hold much slush/water. I miss the Weathertech's I had on my old truck, might need to bite the bullet and get another set.

Finally got fed up with the clunking and feeling that my rear suspension was going to fall out over every small bump. So in the Keystone parking lot I busted out the impact wrench and tightened the bolts on my panhard. Got a few weird looks, but seriously who doesn't carry an impact in their trucks most of the time.

No more clunk!

I am pretty happy. Bumper is very robust. I put a CBI bumper on my Tacoma, and you cannot see it from the cab. This one is clearly visible from the cab--and larger/beefier.

good purchase, I've been looking at older duramaxes as well but can't seem to pul the trigger. you're gonna be surprised how nice it is to tow with that 1500

my dad has a '11 tundra and my gf's father has an '11 silverado. daily driving with no load, id take the silverado any day. the tundra is quicker and handles a trailer better IMO, but if it was my DD, id probably buy the chevy

Thanks! I already towed with it today, couldn't even tell the trailer was back there. I've been towing with a '99 2500(non-HD) Sierra with the 5.3 and it was a dog, this one snatched it like it wasn't there. Some of the features like the 6 speed tranny and downhill engine braking are awesome, I just have to get a few initial mods out of the way and I'll be set.

I really liked a Duramax my buddy had on his lot but the manager wouldn't come down (despite being way over retail) and the leveling kit & programmer made me worry it might've been ragged on a little.

Nice truck I'm jealous! My last car was that same truck in navy but two wheel drive and that's why I sold it. On a rainy day on a gravel boat ramp or a dirt road turned into a slip and slide and I figured I'd upgrade into something I'd be happy with in the long run. What kind of initial mods do you have in mind?

they're great trucks, and if you take care of them the 5.3 will run for a long time. diesels are "hot" right now, they're going for 5-10% over book value regularly up near me, rotted out dodges with 200k are selling for 12+. all the trucks I've looked at that had performance mods were either adult owned (which may mean nothing) or belonged to friends of mine. if i get close to buying, i think id rather start with a stock, clean slate.

It's 4wd, check out the picture with auto trac shifter to the left of the steering wheel.

Initially I'm just going to do some minor stuff - bedliner, toolbox, tint, some LED bulbs for the inside and reverse lights, feaux factory reverse cam & mirror, nerf bars, maybe a few other little things. Eventually I'll get it leveled and put some tires on but I got the free tires for life program so if I let these wear down and pay the dealer to upgrade the first time, I can get whatever tires I want free for life.

Yesterday me and a friend installed my 5100's and fj springs. Today I got my FJ steelies painted up and hope to get a coat of clear on them soon so I can get them on!! I set the 5100's to 1.75, the ride and handling is great, now just need a spacer for the rear to get rid of the reverse rake! Pics to come!
