What did you do with your 4runner today?

Where did you buy the duplicolor from? I bought some matching paint to do a fender a few months ago and it was terrible quality. It looks like yours worked great and I'd like to redo the fender if I can get some decent paint. Also did you use duplicolor's clearcoat as well? Did the finish come out close to the stock paint job? Thanks in advance.

I couldn't find any titanium/silver metallic at any of my local auto parts stores so I bought 4 cans of it off amazon. That should last me a while. I have a couple other small touch up projects I want to do that I can still see after the paint correction I did. The previous owner didn't really maintain the paint very well. The clear on the tops of the mirrors and the door handles is in bad shape.

Yes I used duplicolor clear as well. Not sure if makes a difference, but I warm the cans up in warm water for a while before I spray. Just make sure you use even distance and overlap properly and it should turn out ok. I did 4 coats of base and 4 coats of clear. For my first 2 coats of clear I do them lightly (move faster) and the 2nd two coats I go heavier by moving slower. I've painted a few cars in my lifetime so I'm kinda familiar with when I think it will start to run. Normally I prefer to spray with an hvlp gun but this was a small enough part it would be more hassle than it's worth.

I have one blemish on the topside of the spoiler where the metallic got a little uneven but it's no big deal. You'll only be able to see it if you were looking from a certain angle and on top of the vehicle.

In other news I have been searching the members of the 4th gens and I can't seem to find the guy who has a 4th gen I believe in Colorado(or recently took a trip there) and also got a newer tundra and lifted it and got a flat when he took it up a trail. I only ask because I'm trying to help my friend with a Tundra who wants to get into modifying and was going to use that guys build thread as a reference.

He has got I believe and 11 or 12 and we were discussing this weekend overlanding and just traveling in your vehicle in general for trips and I think he is even more interested to learn that people are using their full size Tundras for this, so I of course referenced your truck you recently got and your trips as he loves doing Colorado and such. If he does have any questions I will definitely let you know.

We had a warmer dry day today so I painted the spoiler I got off amazon. Turned on the heater in the garage to warm things up and laid down some adhesion promoter, 4 base coats, and 4 coats of clear. All duplicolor rattle can stuff.

Huge 4Runner weekend. The new tires (so happy), clazzios, removed year old plastidip on my wheels, detailed it, and redid the plastidip on husbands runner wheels from gunmetal gray to black. I'm spent. I feel like I have a brand new car though so it's its own reward! Love it all over again!

I'm getting closer on the reverse lights. the reflectors are now trimmed to fit the lights perfectly, my harness is built, and i have the L brackets, hardware, and other odds and ends to install. trimming the housings is awful, I'm a pro at mending cracks and breaks in plastic now though. now i just need to wait for the 30+ inches of snow to fall, then maybe i can install them
