Last weekend I got my truck stuck in a mud hole. Its one of those holes that looks JUST like all the other 12" deep mud holes.... but is about 30" instead.
I believe the plugs in the floorboard on the passenger side allowed muddy water in.
I thought it was going to be a easy clean up. But when I pulled up the carpet....
And this isn't just plain ole muddy water. It's funky ass muddy water. My truck smells like a swamp. So for about two hours last night I was cleaning the Jute with a carpet cleaner my wife has. It sprays water then you vacuum it back out. I'm amazed how much fluid that Jute can hold. I used a watered down bleach mixture with a spray bottle and then vacuumed that up too, hopefully that will stop anything funky from growing under there.
Anyhow, after letting a fan blow on it for a few hours it was 98% dry, so I put it all back together.
Cleaned these too... as best as I could...
Moral of the story, no more mud for this guy. I'm taking the dry road.
Make sure water didn't get into that ECU that is in the drivers side kick panel ( next to your left foot under the trim ) Several have gotten that wet and it fails, resulting in buying a new ECU....

Wasn't today, but last night. Recently got my new retros. It was FINALLY nice out to work and I actually had some time. Fine people at #Lightwerkz put together my TL bixenon set up. I'm very happy to say the least.
First of all, I only have time at night so some "additional gear" is required. Don't laugh, it's EXTREMELY useful when working alone.
Headlights off. Old lights going to get cleaned up and put up for sale. Before installing them, I installed the "dim" wire for my V3 switchback (they dim 50% when you turn on your parking lights). That was easy (not pictured).
High beams (stock for now) and high beam HID.
Of course, aligning them is essential for any retro job.

sequence: on (bright switchback, parking light on (dimmed switchback), low beam HID, hi-beam (HID solenoid on and OEM hibeam light), low beam, low beam off, parking light (switchback burns orange), then to dim white, all lights off, DRL on bright white.

Thanks Cookie! Nice retrofit too. And for the record, there is nothing wrong with sporting a headlamp....my wife doesn't hardly even look at me funny anymore
Finished my transmission cooler installation. Went through multiple iterations of mounting orientation before coming back to my first one. I like the idea of fluid being retained in the cooler, not needing to be pumped in when first started.
Added fluid on the bench, took about 100cc to fill after burping the air. Put hose protectors on the lines in front of the A/C condensor just because I get paranoid about chafing. Double hose clamps for the same reason.
No leaks, will watch the Scangauge to see if it makes all that much difference, not towing yet.

Just got done with some pretty major mods over the last week. Got my Schrockworks bumper in and just got my Whitson Rack and light bars installed! Super psyched that all the hard work that went into the bussman paid off and learned a ton for sure! Also got Hokierunner's faring all made up and installed. Now just need to tackle those damn bolt on sliders... Really need to black out that grill too, that chrome is a no bueno!

In just the past couple of days I installed a new head unit and Bilstein 5100s. So far, very happy with the shocks, even with the stock coils. It's set to 1.75" lift in front.
