What did you do with your 4runner today?

TRD Pro wheels came in today. I had the BFG KO2 265/70's mounted. I have a slight bit of rubbing even with the front mud flaps removed so suspension is needed.
Ordered the ToyTec Bilstein 3" Coilover and 5100's to replace the blown XREAS shocks, at 72k they were done when I picked up my runner.

My favorite road in the US! We were up there about a month ago for the MINI rally and had a great time. I usually go up twice a year on my bike, but that was my first time in a vehicle. It was intense! My wife told me we could never drive that road in the 4Runner!

I had the pleasure of hitting that road with my 93 MR2 Turbo I used to have. Was fun until you come around a corner a little fast and there is a damn semi taking up both lanes in the next turn. That one and Skyline drive were probably my favorite places to drive when I lived out there.

Just for clarification, you were rubbing with 265/70's on stock suspension?? I'm planning on picking up some TRD wheels myself, but going to install some FJ coils, and am currently researching tire sizes (I have a Limited w/ 18's).

i know i cant be the only one that is annoyed when someone talks about tire size but does not give all the info. they ask what the biggest tire is that will fit in the truck as if the answer is that simple. when they ask what the biggest tire that fits without lift my first thought is do you want tall tires or wider tires or a little of both. or they post up that they got new tires and only post the first two numbers. well that was enough for me, dont want to sit here and type to long just thought i had to say something.

265/70/17 duratracs fit on stock height just fyi, no rub anywhere full lock both ways.

That is correct, some slight rubbing when parking or turning tighter than normal turns at slow speeds. Currently its still on XREAS with blown fronts, on the way is the Toytec 3" Bilstein 5100 kit.
Mine had the 18" Limited wheels, I had to get rid of those things lol.

I just did the same thing. I had the grill dipped for a while and then decided to try something different and dip the middle of the bumper to bring it all together. We'll just see how long it holds up.

It'll hold up for atleast a year plus. I had my bumpers grille amd wheels dipped on my Tundra for.over a year here in the midwest with shit winters and it held up great.

Appreciate the response. I'm thinking with the slight lift in the front from the FJ springs + Bilstein's set at 0.85", I won't have any rubbing with the same sized tires.

replaced my faded bumper DTRL's. when i was taking the socket out of the pass side i found an extra bulb just chilling in there?!! another reason to do everything yourself. wonder how much the dealership charged to "replace the bulb" for the previous owner!

Changed the oil, re checked the torque on the lug nuts of my wheel spacers ( I had been paranoid that with every bump I'd hit in the road my wheel was about to fall off) , and pushed the fender liners forward and trimmed the bumper a bit cause I've rubbed like crazy since adding the wheel spacers. I just zip tied em like the pics show. It'll do the trick til I get a bumper and 285's...or bigger. Had to trim the bumper a tad too.
