What did you do with your 4runner today?

My twin parked with me today.

Ebay. Looks like Page Toyota in MI has some now. That's where my 4Runner came from originally!

Not sure why it says left, its an oring. Mine had all sorts of crap packed around it. I'm blaming it for my bearing failure. I had to spend a few mins cleaning all the rust and gunk off the chamfer in the knuckle where the oring seats.

I also rebooted my CV. What a joy, but for $11 in parts its still better then buying new axles.

It wasn't mine, but I lifted a friend of a friend's 4th gen this evening.

I really don't like having to remove so much stuff to remove/install struts. What a pain.

What did you remove?
Should only have to remove tire, take the 2 bolts holding the lower ball joint on, then the strut. Have a buddy hold the knuckle assembly out of the way.

We were able to remove the struts just by unbolting the swaybar endlinks.

HOWEVER

To get the new struts in (5100 w/ FJ Coils) we had to do the low ball joints, the tie rod end, and actually remove the whole sway bar. They just WOULD NOT go on.

On a 3rd gen you remove the strut/coilover... and that's it. lol
 
Finally after a few hours of WD40 fun, the dip is gone. I didn't remember my wheels being so shinny lol

That's with a OME lift and small spacers up front

Is that green. . .if so. Absolutely sexy and need to see some pictures of it in the sun!

I forgot about the sway bar link. I removed mine when I first replaced my shocks and haven't looked back.
Why did you have to remove the tire rod? Or was it just being difficult and you needed the room? I usually just flip my knuckle over as far as the brake line will allow, then tie it up high so I have a little room to play in. Fun times! Lol
I'm pulling mine out hopefully today. Have to make some adjustments. Now lift! Well I have to replace the rods too, so I guess I'll have that fun. My nut that holds it on looks frozen, and I'm not so sure the cotter pin will come out willingly. Might have to cut it off like I did the ball joints.

I had to get a different sub because the one pictured here is discontinued but I found one thats basically the exact same one. The sound is exactly what I was looking for. Great bass but wont rattle the car next to you. True sound all around and works with the JBL system well.

The sub is a JL Audio 8W1v3-4 and the amp is JL Audio JX250/1.

Highly suggest this upgrade!

yea, it looks greenish sometimes, sometimes it looks gunmetal. In the beginning i wasnt a fan but for the price and mileage i couldnt go wrong. the color is growing on me. Definitely like it more now than i did in the beginning.
