I did that at first. Then I put 35's on and it didn't work anymore. LolTackled a project that I've been thinking about for awhile. When you remove your rear mud flaps, it leaves the rear bumper wide open. I've kicked a ton of mud up into it and that's just another annoying place I have to clean out when I've been in the slop.
So out came the dremel and I turned the the mudflap into a cover to keep everything out of the bumper.

Fortunately I still have another 20-30k on these 32s so at least I can keep it clean for now. =P
I gave up clean. It never happens for more than a day or two. Lol

I still have the same mud on it from last weekend because I'm going out Monday. Hopefully the rain tonight washes some of it off.
We haven't had any snow yet, just tons of rain. Damn El Nino! I've had rain baths for over 2 months now. Lol

We've had a couple rain storms, but it's never enough to wash off the dirt. Going playing in the snow in the mountains Monday though. They should get another 2-4 inches tonight. Still waiting on the actual El Nino to kick in. If it does, then we'll get rain for a week at a time, which we need badly.
I like the rain for the mud, but I really want some snow now. No mountains in my part. Crazy unusual to not have snow in northern Michigan though!

Quit hogging all the rain! The mountains have gotten a good amount in the last two weeks down here. And that's all that matters.
Can't wait to see how these Duratracs do in it. My first season in a 4wd has been a hell of a mix between wet and dry (mostly dry) but I've been amazed at how well this 4runner has handled every situation.

What did I do.... I bought my first 4Runner! 03 v6 sport with only 160k Kms (95k ish miles) on it and dealer serviced from day one with all the receipts. The guy was anal, but knew nothing so just did what the dealer told him too. Looks like it came off the showroom floor other than a couple parking lot dings. [emoji1]

Did the oil, then noticed what looked like a bunch of little wires wrapped around my fan shroud then figured out it was my belt slowly deteriorating. Good thing I caught it though, it was about half gone! So ended up replacing the belt.
Then started hearing humming ( yup pass side wheel bearing) jacked it up and it's got a decent amount of play in it. I swear it happened over night or at least it felt like it. Ordered a new hub assembly from [MENTION=100129]nj636[/MENTION] so that's next weeks project.
Also noticed my passenger side cv axle wrapping pretty bad. So I'll be pulling that to get the pack and booted at the same time.
I did get to do something fun though this weekend. I installed this guy! A little more assurance now going thru those deep water crossings ( don't really like deep water and mud anyways) but still better safe then sorry.

I used a leftover piece of Lexan from building my roof rack wind fairing. I already have the color match spray paint for little projects such as this.
I started with a piece of cardboard to make a template, then cut out the Lexan with a scroll-saw. I used sandpaper on my workbench to get the edges straight.
To mount it, I used a thin piece of aluminum. I bent the aluminum at weird angles so that I could still get at the screw that can be seen in the hole. I used this screw to mount the bracket I made. Before mounting, I cut the aluminum to match the tip of the Lexan so I could maximize the surface area. To cut the aluminum, I scored it with my Dremel cutting blade, then broke it along the line. I used double sided 3M tape to sick it to the bracket.
The only issue I have is the profile. It looks fine, but my OCD would like it to have a curve to the profile. If I ever have a moment, I may tinker with making the trim piece out of something that I can bend.

What snorkel is that for? Fits really nice! I so need one of those. I've sucked up water a couple times now...
