I picked up this Cherry 2004 T4R SR5 4.7L V8 4WD 117K! This is my first Runner and I'm loving it more every day! I've had it a week now and we've already been on a successful and safe vacation. Everything is stock and has been well kept for, but with everything being stock the ride could use a little upgrade. Looking forward a lengthy relationship with this Rowdy Runner :zoom:

Not with that setup. You should be good on stock ucas.

This is not always the case. I just installed OME 885's and I haven't been able to get my castor in spec. It's sitting at .5 with low spec at 2.5 and preferred is 3.5 + - by most that have commented on alignment. Toe and camber are perfect, so it drives straight and I'm not expecting any unusual tire wear, but it definitely gets a bit "floaty" above 60 or so.

My boy is a tank. He is walking...until he falls down and he hits his head multiple times a day. I think we will change his call-sign from "Bubba-cheeks" to "Bruiser" or "Crash" after today.

Today had me concerned because my wife (who is very desensitized to his daily exploits) was hysterical and I had very limited information to go on. I was very worried when I got that phone call.

Yeah definitely. It's been quite a few years but I'm sure we had our own oh shit moments when you weren't quite sure how bad it was. We also had some, oh it's not so bad moments where it turned out to be pretty serious. I would have been hitting the limiter too.

edit: also, my son's eyes are really bad (he wears glasses and is super near sighted) and he eats it all the time now at almost 7 because he just doesn't always see what he's about to trip on. Now it's a matter of getting him to realize his fall wasn't as bad as he thought it was. I have an entire cabinet full of bandaids, gauze, and misc first aid items. I have a full kit that I have in the 4runner for when we're off road and camping.

rear 5100/895e set is ready as well. Now i just need to buy a truck..

Also eye'd some 5th gen trail rims with BFG Ats for 600 on CL. Waiting sucks

Installed my suspension and wheel spacers today, trimmed the fender liner and removed the front mud flaps. Also threw on some 275/65/18 Duratracs I found off craigslist. I love the way it rides compared to the worn out XREAS I had on it before. It's very floaty and pulls a little to the left when driving, hopefully the alignment fixes all that tomorrow!

Went over a speed bump too fast and broke the top bushing causing the inner rid of the shock to fully extend and put a hole through the body lol.

Plastidip blacked out emblems and front grill and lower bumper

Blacked out headlights and fog light housing

Updated LED tailights from rockauto

xenondepot 4300k kit and yellow fog lights bulb. (Very good kit)

now i just need to find a good lift option to get rid of that "station wagon" look

Finally got new upper and lower control arms approved under warranty.

Cost to warranty is ~$2400 to have it done by the dealer including alignment


Now I'm stuck driving a fully loaded 2016 Toyota Tacoma TRD loaner until the parts come in, its as bad as it sounds :surfer:

its a rear bumper guard from the orig owner. Haven't had time to remove it yet. It will be for sale soon along with front brush guard grille and tail light guard. Chrome isn't really my thing.

its mounted via brackets that are bolted to the body of the frame. Pretty sure it styling is meant for the other toyota suv with the way it wraps around the edges of the t4r.
