What did you do with your 4runner today?

im gonna be changing out my u-joints very soon. which ones did you go with?
I bought 2 duralast ones as they have a lifetime warranty. They seem good but after installing I couldn't get the grease gun into the zerk as they put it between the joints and it's to tight. I'll have to get a zerk that has a 90* fitting.
During install my buddy was helping and he got over zealous and messed one up. Autozone warrantied it still and since they didn't have a duralast in Stock gave me a moog which is stronger and the grease zerk goes into one of the caps. Next time I will get the moog ones, when I do the rears eventually.

Good to know. I was leaning towards the Moogs but the clip had me a little worried. it looks like once it goes in, it would be a pain to take out. Im thinking to go with the Moog and just deal with the clip down the road if need be. At 20 bucks each im probably going to replace both at the same time hopefully next weekend. thanks for the input.

Local stealership wanted $225.68 for one:bash::crazy: Went on fleaBay and found prices all over the place. Was going to order one for $19.98, but after the bad experience with being cheap and ordering a Gates water pump and having to replace it with an Aisin after 2k miles I found a Toyota OEM for $62.
The clips that hold the caps on are the same on all of them. Really easy to work with too!

Driver's side front. I was installing my lift spindles and got a not so great news call from my dad. After I got off the phone I should have taken a break to let my mind clear, but I didn't. Started wrenching with my mind preoccupied and pulled the wrench handle over the ABS sensor sticking out of the hub snapping the tip off. I don't think it is a fixable part, only replaceable.

I will say, although you're right and I would go with the Aisin water pump since it's hard to replace if it goes wrong; I went with the 20 dollar amazon part for the ABS sensor about a 2 years ago when I broke mine installing my lift. It's still all good here.

Lol, that's the style air horn, train horn, semi truck horn, guess whatever you call them I have one. Hopefully the other two trumpets start working

I know with parts like this it doesn't matter they either work or they don't and could have saved the extra $40 for something else, but I figure OEM for $60 isn't bad.

Haha yeah I guess air horn would be a bit more accurate. Saying train horn makes it sound like you've got an actual train horn though!

Hit some trails with the stock Runner!
Did some mud-season trails today in central Mass. Sunk in some mud, tested out the stock skid plates... I'm thoroughly impressed with this truck in stock form, 4Hi locked! Destination ATs did alright, too. :thumb3:
These were taken on an easy section- was too busy not getting stuck to stop for photos in the muddy part.

Did some light wheeling just out sight seeing on some local trails near my house.. I ended up taking the front sway bar off due to losing one of the sway bar mounting bolts last weekend. The clunking was getting obnoxious, but as they say... Everything happens for a reason! And I couldn't be happier with the outcome. It really allows the front suspension to do its thing on some of the more off camber obstacles I ran into. Plus I had to seize day with the gorgeous weather.. Living in the PNW and all. [emoji268][emoji640][emoji768]
