Did some light wheeling just out sight seeing on some local trails near my house.. I ended up taking the front sway bar off due to losing one of the sway bar mounting bolts last weekend. The clunking was getting obnoxious, but as they say... Everything happens for a reason! And I couldn't be happier with the outcome. It really allows the front suspension to do its thing on some of the more off camber obstacles I ran into. Plus I had to seize day with the gorgeous weather.. Living in the PNW and all. Local stealership wanted $225.68 for one:bash::crazy: Went on fleaBay and found prices all over the place. Was going to order one for $19.98, but after the bad experience with being cheap and ordering a Gates water pump and having to replace it with an Aisin after 2k miles I found a Toyota OEM for $62.

i will never say an oem part is not worth it. that sounds like an awesome deal. i just wanted to give it a shot since the location is terrible on lift spindles. ill update if it acts trippy

Installed my 4" lift spindles, lowered my FJ coils on my Bilsteins to 0, and replaced my UCA sleeves and bushings. I now have more front lift at 0 than I did when I had them maxed out and the ride is AWESOME!

Do you have a build thread, I also have 2wd so I'm curious on lifting mine

Were you able to keep your alignment when you replaced them? Did you jack up the front and do it or keep it on the ground?

Jacked up the front to remove the wheel for better access, ratchet strapped the LCA in place as best I could, put some paint marks on the arm and frame tab to attempt to keep it in place and swapped the bolt out. I don't think I retained my alignment perfectly (even though my steering wheel is no longer slightly off to the right after my last "alignment"). I'll most likely take advantage of that to mess with the UCA settings before I take it back to get it redone again.

I will remove the silly pocket door under the ac controls and this will fit in its place. I like to mod without disturbing original stuff. Keeps the value high. I don't like the location of the factory 12 volt plug. So one circle is a 12volt socket, the middle is a volt meter for my second battery, and the right circle is a dual usb power port. They can be rearranged very easily if needed.

The lower half is blank now but will be a switch panel in the future.

Basically, this gives me a large section of material in the front dash area for all kinds of stuff without having to disturb any visible factory material.

I'm kinda making it up as I go. I'm still debating on whether to wrap it in vinyl or plasti dip. It would Velcro in so I can easily remove panel to get behind it.

I have to fill the void of not having my truck.[emoji22]

Awesome awesome awesome!! Please keep us updated on your progress. I am trying to figure out what to do with that cubby, and I want to put a switch panel somewhere eventually, so this is definitely high on my list now. Let us know what works and what doesn't!!

When I asked the question, I kinda thought as I was driving that that would be a good place to put it, that's going to look great, might copy you on that seeing how I have a sheet of black vinyl

Technically, it was Saturday, but here is what I did on the wife's T4R

Did some more "clearancing" on the front fenders and BMC.

Did some more test-fitting on my light bar.

Test fitted the yaks for the first time to see how much overhang I need to cut off of my cross bars.

Still haven't washed the damn thing.

you 06+ plus guys are lucky. the fender cutting shows much less than on my squared 03-05 fenders. im kinda jelous. and have you tested your full range or articulation and lock to lock steering yet?

Scored some FJ wheels with 265/70/17 wrangler at/s with lots of threads left for dirt cheap on craigslist. Put on some plastdip black+glossifier since the wheels were scuffed up. No lift so far and no rubbing at all with bigger tire size. Gives it a slightly more flush look in case people were wondering since FJ wheels sit about half inch further out and just looks better overall with bigger tire size even with no lift.

Yeah, I was looking at yours earlier. Yours is probably harder than most. The 04 has the flat fenders and the long front bumper, and it's white! I don't envy you when it comes to cutting, but it looks pretty good. I've had a little practice with trimming my white 08. The trick is tapering around the corner of the truck to keep a smooth line from the side to the front. It's much easier on the 06+.

Lock to lock is good on flat surfaces. I don't really take her off road enough to worry about articulation. Nothing but flat land around here. We're planning on some kayaking and camping soon, so we'll see if I need to do some more work.

Little flex. I still haven't been able to flex it enough to get the tire off the ground, although this is damned close. I'm loving this rear setup.

Yes sir. t-man (I haven't figured out the "mention" feature) has done a ton of cutting and banging on his. He is very utility oriented to say the least. You may want to check out his "clearance mods" :thumb:
