97 degrees at the house yesterday.
75 up on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I sure am going to miss this.
Why are you gonna have to miss that view and weather?

Explored into the trails I found some more. Ended up getting high centered on a downed tree I knew I shouldn't have tried to crawl over. Had to call in a buddy with his Taco. It's bone stock but at least a TRD Offroad. He had some trouble in the mud but he got to me and got me off the log. I was down in the bottom of a ravine and I thought I might have to tow him back out after he got me free but he made it back up OK. He said it was the first time his truck has ever been off the pavement.
He doesn't know he needs to be in neutral to get into 4Lo. He put it in 4Lo while he was in D and it was beeping at him for awhile. I said, "Don't you have to be in neutral to get into 4Lo?" "Nah, I've never put it in neutral. It just beeps like that all the time." "Mine beeps exactly like that too if I put it in 4Lo without being in neutral." Guy thinks he's been using 4Lo for I don't know how many years and has never been out of 4Hi. I wasn't going to argue further. Dude's twice my age.

Why he heck is he using 4Lo on the pavement? Lol sounds like he needs some educating for sure. Glad you made it out ok! Never a fun situation

Installed new drivers' side floor mat clips after the carwash lost one. BTW, dealers are still giving out those clips at no charge. Also cleaned and conditioned all the weatherstripping.
Continuing the snake tales, we've lived here 7 years and seen 3 snakes, all non venomous...until last Saturday.
Years ago, I built a small ramp into one of our basement doors so we can drive the mower in and out. It's not attached, and we used to pick it up when it wasn't in use but have gotten used to it being there so we haven't bothered. There's a board on the house beneath that door that needs replacing so that meant I had to move the ramp. Well, as Scarface put it, "say hello to my little friend" - a 2-foot copperhead was underneath.
I didn't bend over and pick up the ramp, thankfully, I just picked up a corner with my foot and kind of dragged it back a little. I put my foot down and stepped on something, which was the back half of the snake that had uncoiled out from under the ramp when I moved it. Felt like a fat sausage link. I jumped back, yelling some choice words a couple of octaves above normal, and it went back under the ramp.
I got a shovel and picked up one end of the ramp but didn't have enough blade under it to hold it so it fell down again - right on the snake, pinning it down and trapping its head and about 5 inches of its body outside the ramp. Some feel the only good snake is a dead snake, but that's not true because some of them kill rodents and even eat venomous snakes, so I don't kill them unless they're venomous. I looked this dude's markings up on my phone and told him sorry, this was the end of the line.
He's RIP back in the woods behind the house now and I'm feeling very grateful that he was only about 2/3 of full grown and I didn't get to find out how a snakebite affects one's day (though a copperhead bite is rarely fatal).
Coincidentally, I saw a TV report recently about how venomous snakebites are actually bankrupting some of the victims. It can take 6 to 8 vials of antivenom to treat the patient and the vials run about $20,000 each.
So that was my Saturday morning. ;-)

wheel bearings/hubs
inner and outer tie rod ends
both front half shafts and associated seals/fluids
brake calipers/rotors/SS brake lines and NICOP hard lines
swaybar endlinks with disconnects
lower balljoints
TC and Rear diff fluids
Rebuilt:
Camburg UCAs with new uniballs and powdercoated blue
ICON coilovers with 14" 700 LB King Springs, nitro steel shafts, new internal packings and COMT bearings
Replaced:

Got my flowmaster in...currently debating whether or not i'm gonna delete the resonator as its a Delta flow so it somewhat has a resonator built in. :mmph:
Took me a while, PO had done some funky repairs behind the muffler and the pipe was a smaller diameter than it should have been. :wtf:

One repair led to a bunch of other servicing since the truck was up in the air:
Replaced driver's side half shaft.
Drained and filled diff's + transfer case.
Lubed drive line.
Drained and filled ATF.
Serviced and lubed brake pins and slides.
Bleed brake fluid.
Sprayed undercoat on the skid plates.
Thanks to all the DIY's and help on T4R!

Went out to Montauk Point outer Beach, Long island NY with a few friends... In my opinion its the nicest place on the island.
