What did you do with your 4runner today?

Got my 275/70/18 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's installed yesterday along with 1.25 inch spacers and gotta say, really impressed so far. I went with LT due to the rocky Colorado trails I hit pretty often. I was a bit worried about the ride being harsh due to the LT rating, but it's honestly a pretty smooth ride. Handles and rides really well. Just a slight difference from the P rated 265/65/18 Hankook Dynapro ATM's I had on before. Will get some pics later today, truck looks GREAT.

I would avoid any type of aftermarket headlight assembly. You can't tell from the online ads but they're made extremely cheaply with poor fit, flimsy plastic and lousy quality control. It's best to stick with OEM Toyota assemblies and use them as a base for modification.

If you have an '06-'09 with the updated look headlights, I recommend the Retroquik option from The Retrofit Source. This replaces the stock projectors with projectors optimized for an HID bulb. You get the proper cutoff and light output and you keep the factory headlamp assemblies.

Mounted some 285's. Didn't need a BMC and was even able to fit a full size spare underneath.

5100's with Moog FJ set to second notch with a daystar 1.5 in the rear. The tires are just under 33" cooper at3 in 285/70/17. I had 265 70 on before so I moved the liners forward then. All I did was to remove the front mud flaps when I made the jump to 285 70.

Painted these Centric 5th gen calipers to hopefully install this weekend.
I used the VHT caliper paint, satin black.

Detailed, headlights restored, 1.25 wheel spacers and 275/70/18 LT Falken A/T3W's installed. Found out I need new CV boots, when I get that done in a month or so I will probably have FJ springs (or similar) installed on the front 5100s (rear already have them) to raise it an inch or two. Front is still on stock springs currently.

I originally ran some no name white body nitro shock from fat bobs garage. They never could get me the right lower bushing so I just had to run a narrow one with a bunch of washers until they were willing to trade me up to the 5100's. I don't know what lengths they were, I never wheeled with them, but they worked on the street for the temporary month or so I had them. I would guess you'd beat them up pretty quick though. Find some longer ones from part numbers in the FJ superflexy threads?

I keep searching for a thread that I've read through before, but have been busy and not able to get to my computer. Can't seem to find it even though I remember subscribing to it even. My biggest concern with these is they may not be long enough even though the advertise for 2" of lift. I need them to last until spring.
End product will be ORI-STRUTS and potentially different link setup. Which is $2-3k...

Nice truck, super clean. Also, thanks for turning me on to the tire size, it is more appealing to me than the wider 285/70/r17 that is more common. I am running 275/65/r18 presently and am looking to bump the height a bit for my next set, but not the width. The 275/70/r18 Duratracs are also about $10 cheaper per tire, nice. :dancin:

I used to run those. I ran those shocks with my spacer lift from toytec as well as with my Radflo Coilovers.

I ran these to their death and was actually impressed. I ran these with my 35" wheels and wheeled the crap out of them.

Are my Icon's (which I have under it now) better? Yes. Are there other rear shocks that are better? Yes.

Are you going to be happy with these for every day use? Yes. Are these going to be better than no shocks? Absolutely.

I say if you don't want to dish out the dough right now for better shock, these will get you by.

Lol, thanks man! You are right, I just need a cheap, non-bilstein shock to get me by. Lol
I am going to get the ones for the lc80 which are 10" long. About all I can do with FJ coils and spacers for now. Procomp 924514 is the specific ones.

Wasn't too happy with the color of the D2S osram nightbreaker headlights (4300k) so I bought the Philips ultinon bulbs (6000k). Hopefully will give me the color I am looking for.
