What did you do with your 4runner today?

probably my favorite little mod so far.
picked up some Herculiner and cleaned up my inner wheel wells. hit it with a brass brush to knock off any loose existing liner/dirt, primed it for a little foundation and got to spreadin'
I can tell ya the difference is incredible, like it just got driven off the lot only with a rugged off-road feel
also hit up the stock roof end caps, also to give it a rugged look. Be careful, this stuff gets messy quick. Now I have a half sleeve lol

Detailed, headlights restored, 1.25 wheel spacers and 275/70/18 LT Falken A/T3W's installed. Found out I need new CV boots, when I get that done in a month or so I will probably have FJ springs (or similar) installed on the front 5100s (rear already have them) to raise it an inch or two. Front is still on stock springs currently.

don't you need new hubs with longer bearings to sport wheel spacers? or can I just buy some and throw them on at my next rotation
Buy em and throw them on! Incredibly simple process. Just make a good habit of checking the torque spec on them from time to time

Swapped out the 4300k Osram Nightbreakers (right) with 6000k Philips WX Ultinon (left).
Much happier with the look. The 4300 were just too yellow for my liking.

your going to wish you keep that osram bulbs, the warmer color works better in all weather, the cooler white color usually get washed out in the wet condition. if you keep both, do the cooler color in summer time and warmer color in winter time.

Great info! I will definitely keep that in mind. Like you know I wasn't happy with the cutoff and color of these but this was a temporary fix until I get some time to really do something significant.

im surprised you didnt order the osram cool blue intense, its a nice bulb. i can send you my old set, also i did drive them with 50w ballast.
Looks great! I'm hunting for one that color now... Selling my rubicon, trying out 4runners for a while.

You can just throw them on, but you will end up replacing your bearings more often. It's worth it though.

What'd you use for material? The last rubber stuff that I grabbed from Home Depot didn't hold up for very long last time I did it.
Only sheet of rubber I could find is the non slip layer you glue down to stairs. So that's what I got. Going to install when my icon UCAs get here next week.
