What did you do with your 4runner today?

Painted and installed my RCI engine and transmission skid plates from the GB. Now full skids from engine to transfer case.

Also installed my new IGGY lights from the Tacomaworld GB. Pair of 40W flood and pair of 40w spot. They came with amber covers as well. We will see if I keep them on, not sure yet. Things are pretty awesome though. Better then Rigids in my opinion. Wire harnesses they come with are super good quality as well.

Then to top it off switched to Amica insurance and saved $45 a month!:reddance:

Did you tint the entire front windshield? I'm sure that's highly illegal but I'd love to know if you found a loophole cause it looks sick

Yes the entire windshield is tinted. Technically illegal, but I have a waiver from my eye doctor thru the DMV to help prevent bad starbursts at night.

The looks soooOOOoooOo good. Is it all legal? Is that the darkest your windshield can be? And would ya care to spill the beans on how much it cost you? Redoing all of mine this weekend

Technically illegal, yes. I chose 40% because its still light enough for others to see thru during the day and not seem too noticeable. Plus, from the outside it blend all the windows together and looks much cleaner.

Where did you go? Was it pricey? I really wanna get mine done.

Most shops that I checked, the going rate is about $100 for windshield alone.

Thanks! Yes the spidertrax are needed to prevent rubbing on the upper control arms. The stance is just an added bonus

Last week I did my own 210k service. New plugs, air filter, changed oil, oil filter, transmission fluid, front and rear diff fluid, transfer case fluid, power steering fluid, greased driveshaft, new windshield wipers, rotated tires, repainted skid plates (they are black now instead of rust color), and gave everything a good look over.

Discovered the transmission drain plug is stripped. Will not torque to the required setting. It is not leaking fluid though. Also, discovered the head of the front diff drain plug is stripped. So, I just used the hand pump to remove most of the fluid through the fill plug. Some of these shops piss me off when they mess something up and do not admit to it!!!

Found out the cv boots are starting to sling some grease from them. Also, the front bearings are making noises. Guess that is on my list for a week or two from now.

Knock on wood!!! All of the spark plugs were clean! Only slightly worn. She does use a little coolant every now and then though.

Attempted to install the same bulbs in the license plate lights,screws are so rusty the heads no longer have screwdriver slots. This weekend I'll be at it with a Dremel.

Drilled out one stripped rear license plate screw hole.

Buffed the fog lights and front turn signals with a Mothers Powerball headlight kit. Signal lenses will need to be taken apart to clean the dried up moisture buildup in the inside surface.

Had some free time, felt like I had neglected the 4Runner lately so wanted to do something easy;

Diff Breather Mod:

While I was down there I noticed that the low riding hitch took a good hit at some point during one of the last trips. Not only that, but the electrical socket housing also did. Doesn't close sealed all the way anymore as things are a bit loose due to a crack:

Luckily don't have anything to tow at the moment.

3000k HID in the fogs illuminate quite well I must say.

Yay some goodies shipped in today! Pair of 2 KC light covers and a pair of Eye covers by EMPI to cover my 3 6" Rallye lamps on my bull bar since I never use them.

Also ordered some genuine metal black powder coated TRD logos from Deselen kind of hard to see there. Incredibly good quality feels like OEM. Even comes in a fancy box.

Been awhile since Ive been on here, but finally got around to gusseting my spindles and installing my new +4.5 shafts from CVJ. Really impressed with the quality of the shafts, and so stoked to have 4wd back again.
