What did you do with your 4runner today?

Finished up this little project. Nice flat spot for the dog to ride and tie down for a small cooler.
There were some little tabs that stick up in the carpet. Drilled the holes out and installed rivet nuts to hold it down. Fits nice and tight.

More appropriately is what my 4runner did with me. It sufficiently kicked my butt while I put the rear springs, spacer, shocks on.

Hopefully you had a friend or some sort of apparatus pushing down on the end of the axle as you installed the spring?

I managed to get it all on my own with a jack and the sway bar and panhard bar off... then I remembered I left the spacers off. Finally had to get a buddy to stand on one end. It was still a little bit of a PITA. I'm getting too old for this. Lol

We just insured it and was going to take it out for its maiden voyage after sitting all winter in the garage. It has a remote starter which we have never had before. To move it around the yard I used the valet key and put it in the center console. Well I sat in the passenger seat with the remote starter and pushed the start button, lights blinked heard click, click and it started. Wow! I put the 2nd set of keys in the center console got out closed the door to tell my wife it worked nice. She went to tailgate to put dog dish for water in it and said it is locked, I checked the passenger door ...locked! Checked all the doors LOCKED!!!!! Both keys inside, thought what is the cheapest window to break? Then remembered we had two keys ordered off Ebay, had local hardware store cut one and their machine totally screwed it up. Took the second key to a locksmith in the closest town and they said they could cut and program it for $100. (30+70). They were about 70 years old and never cut one before!
Walked out and went to the USA and went to a locksmith in Sandpoint Id. since we were in our Sienna the locksmith said they could cut the key but wouldn't program it. Cost $2.00 We said it had a remote starter and they thought it might work because the transponder for remote should be chipped. when we got home tried the key and it turned the ignition but no start. So we put that key in the cupboard in an envelope with the screwed up key and forgot about it. Well since it is now 3 months later and we were going to start to drive the T4r and the keys were locked inside it came in handy having a key that didn't start the vehicle. So No broken windows...lol

Got my new tires on yesterday. I'd say it was about time! 265/70R17 General Grabber AT2
kcdenhart I see that you are running the stock suspension. Any rubbing with the grabbers? I know most 265/70s will fit but I've heard some (like the BFG KO2) will rub. Curious if your grabbers rub in the front at all?

This morning pulling into work, I turned full lock left while braking before backing into my parking spot and heard a small rub. Nothing major though. I'll investigate and try to find where it rubbed. I'm guessing it only happened because I was braking and the front suspension was being compressed

We took our Chalet down to Arizona for December, then when we got back just too much snow. Our Sienna is AWD and insurance runs out in a month so we thought why insure both while we are gone.
I put a brake controller in and changed fluids etc so now we can use the 4runner as we prepare our trip to Alaska in a few months.

Don't you think you got a little carried away with the spare tires? I think 1 tire is good and 2 tires is extreme..
