I just ordered my OME setup - 885/Superflex. I was thinking of the BFG KO2s, since I had liked them on my Tacoma. I might reconsider.

This is my second set because I like em so much. I was tempted to try KO2s, but these were so good when I owned em (and actually beat KO2s in a few reviews) that I decided to stick with em. They're AMAZING in snow and rain (more important than mud traction, to me) and not loud at all.

Lol I had the new tires put on that day at the expo and I'm selling those that are on top. They have 50-60% left

Was told by the technician that mounted/balanced my tires that I was due for brakes....just replaced em this morning.....he sure wasn't kidding! Feels much better now (surprise surprise)

The pads hadn't been done in so long that I had to take a flathead screwdriver to most of them to pop them out. One I even had to pop it out with a hammer to the screwdriver..........

Yes I would say you needed new brake pads, if you had waited much longer even all new rotors!!!

Installed my maf Calibrator from URD. Right now it has a blank tune so nothing to report there. Install went smooth. Took out glove box and lower kick panel cover to access the necessary splice locations to the ECU. Instructions for wiring that came with it were very clear and I had no issues locating wires. As indicated in the instructions, make sure you locate all the wires you need to splice first and make sure they are the exact colour and in the exact pin/plug indicated. If not, email urd.

First start was no problem after reconnecting battery. No check engine or sputtering. For some reason my truck doesn't take long to relearn idle.


Next steps are adding my wide band o2 sensor/air fuel gauge to do some tuning. I'm no expert so I will need to do some more research.

Oh, and the DT headers still make me incredible happy whenever I start or put my foot down...

Wired in my new dash cam rather then having the ugly wire going to the cig lighter. Turned the truck on and smelled a burning smell...... realised the camera is 5v and not 12v :-( fried the circuit board. Ugh. Ordered new camera and a hardwire kit with the 5v power supply built in.

Went to the transport scale and weighted the T4r today. (closed)

Front 1200kg = 2646 lbs
Rear 1130kg = 2491 lbs
Total 2330kg = 5137 lbs

Almost 50/50, that is with 2 adults and two Golden retrievers in the back and almost a full tank of gas. And of course before supper...lol

PS talked to a lock smith about what if we lock our keys in the 4runner or loose the set and have a spare inside. He said if that happens, break the front window. The glass installers said that is the cheapest window to replace. Learned something new.

Took it up into the mountains with a twin after getting the brakes done. New tires did amazing!

Only issue was a small run-in with a boulder...stopped the truck and jumped out of it in a hurry to do something, it was in mud and not rolling so I thought it was in park, turn around and see it rolling right towards a massive rock. It hit the rock and took a chunk out of my front bumper/skid, but the rock actually saved it from rolling off the mountain. So, I'm incredibly thankful it wasn't much much worse.

Covered it with the license plate and you can't even tell LOL

On a similar note, I just bought a nice light bar direct from manufacturer in china. I was hoping to do a stealth install behind the lower grill. When I went out and looked at my truck I remembered that I have a license plate covering the grill... oops. Anyway, might try to move my plate to the lower two bolts as well and see how it looks. Then I won't need to to put it behind the upper grill and mess with the hood latch.

Yeah, I just feel bad that I let the 4 Runner get damaged. But oh well. Part of the risk I take offroading.

Mine's actually a bit off-center to cover it up. But it really does look fine on the lower part of the bumper.

I agree that it's much better to have a ugly hole in your bumper covered with your license plate than to have your T4R round down the mountain!!!:scared::faint2:
