What did you do with your 4runner today?

What did you use? Did you prep it at all or use any rust converter?

I was looking at my rusty tailpipe today daydreaming of making it look better. I had no idea you could paint it like that.

For the prep I just used a fine synthetic scuffing pad to take off the rust and some of the old paint. Then I washed/wiped it clean. When it dried, I used Dupli-Color low gloss Engine enamel spray paint. I then drove around town for 30 min to heat it up. IMO the low gloss is too glossy for my liking and I wish I would of used the flat black from Home Depot.

I washed it for the first time in quite a while... I think I want to do a color match limited grille and smoked oem sport headlights next. I'm tired of having to restore mine every year. What do y'all think?

The color match grill would look great.

You should wet sand the headlights, then spray them with clear coat that has UV protection. I did mine several months ago and they still look fine.

Installed some icon 2.5 coilovers I got on offer up for 300 dollars lol. Looked funny on stock tires with a 3 inch lift so I lowered it to about 1.5 in the front till my tires get here.

Installed a JVC KW-V320BT double din touchscreen stereo. The new one has a headphone type aux input on the rear. Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the stock aux input from the rear of the original radio to the headphone style aux? Even though it has BT and USB hookups I would like to keep the original aux input(in the console) so guests don't have to connect to my stereo.

Just saw the picture of that prime rib on my big screen and it made my mouth water. We used to have a place nearby that did a big one like that but it's long gone. I'd have to really travel to find something like that from here.

I love these small working (non tourist) towns. It was also federally inspected locally grown, NOT from a big commercial setup. My 4Runner is so lucky.

I put it in my 03 Sport 4WD. I got the part off of eBay for $24.

It was incredibly simple to do.

Pop out Center console, pull out old one, snap in new one, plug it in, snap center console back in place... Done!

The wiring is already in there ready to go. Plug & Play!

It was warm and sunny so I pulled the 4runner out and tinkered. Installed my new 27F Northstar battery, re-wired my HID's to run straight from the battery (w/ relays of course), and swapped out my horns for a set of Hella Supertones.

I am not really liking the sound of the Supertones, at least a first blush. Maybe the tone will grow on me? They are certainly loud though.

Happily basking in the glory of a new head unit and controller.

Sounds great with the stock speakers. The Crux interface works easily with the steering wheel controls. Original AUX works, new AUX works and it reads USB sticks and drives perfectly. Cell integration is pretty good too.

Yeah but they were reallllllllly dirty. Had some rust on them I took a wire wheel to them and degreased them. They run perfect and smooth.
