Definitely beautiful scenery. Wish I had that closer to me. I like offroading, but nothing like sitting at a nice quiet lake with a fishing pole. I don't care if I don't catch anything. Beats being at work.

Decided to put on some spacers on my stock setup until these tires wear out more to when i can get aftermarket wheels and AT tires. I hated the wheels being so into the fenders. I love the perfectly flush look of the tires and fenders now with the spacers.
I took it to Americas Tire Co and they stated that they normally do not install spacers, but Spidertraxx were a well built spacer and even a few of the guys that worked there ran them on their trucks. They did the install following instructions to the letter and asked me to come back in 100 miles to have everything re-torqued (they also did the install for free to my surprise).
The only thing i can say is WOW, what a difference. My only regret is waiting so long to get them.

Decided to paint my valve covers while they're off (replacing gaskets) and ordered a autodimming mirror with compass and homelink. No more searches for a overpriced homelink console!

Cleaned and polished my headlights
I finished cleaning and polishing my crappy headlight lenses. I also installed Morimoto D2S 4.0 projectors, blacked out the chrome, and installed switchback halos.
Before shot of headlights...lenses were dull and yellow
After...I'm surprised at how clear and sparkling they are... This is after I cleaned them and before I blacked them out
How they look now...still have to hook up halo lights, waiting for a few items to complete job

Finally got my swing arm latch installed.
Put the finishing touches on my rear bumper dual swing arm build. Installed the latch. Only thing left to do is make a lockable cover for the jerry can holder.
Now I'm trying to decide my next project...build the sliders, build a roof rack for a rooftop tent, or work inside on communications and GPS systems. Eventually I will get them all done, but which one first? LOL

The headlights turned out great! Did you clear coat them after all the sanding/polishing? If you didn't they will yellow pretty quick. I sprayed mine with a UV protecting clear coat 9 months ago and they still look crystal clear.

Finally got the '08 on the road after the Boss lift, SPC UCA's, airbags. Smogged and registered. My measurements show after lift +2.75" in front and +3" in the rear.
I set the SPC UCA's to the 'D' setting, moved the balljoint to apx the middle of the slot, 1.25" socket on the topnut and maxed out my torquewrench at 150 ft/lbs. It drove nice at 60-75mph, probably won't be much adjustment when I get it aligned.
I may reattach the front swaybar, I'll compare the highspeed lane change to the '07 which has the front swaybar in place. The rear swaybar can stay out, the airbags compensate for it and I put extended brakelines in the rear for the extra droop.
The CV axle angles look good to me, they're not horizontal but the boot fins aren't compressed against each other. Took me 58 days to get the mutt cleaned up and 90% modded but I'm pleased so far.

1: Weathertech front mats: My old Ford Sport Trac had vinyl flooring that I LOVED. I used to windex the floors when I washed it. Carpet has me a little nervous, so I wanted something harder and waterproof, and these mats seem to be good for that. they also match the grey interior very well. We'll see how they last. The original drivers mat had a hole worn straight through where the original owner set their right heel anyway.
2: Dynamat License plate kit: I really never want to be one of the people driving around with the stereo loud and the rear plate rattling louder. its a small strip of dynamat, and 4 thin strips of foam that act as padding. I guess it has the secondary function of protecting the paint, whether it's necessary or not.
3: Hardwire kit for my Dashcam: Until I get the smoker's kit for the extra 12v socket, I had to choose between charging my phone at a decent pace, and running the camera. The kit I got came with an add-a-circuit, which is a really handy little device. Unfortunately it didnt come with an extra fuse, which led to some confusion before i found a spare fuse lying around to complete the original circuit.
My smokers kit should be here Saturday, which I will install Sunday at work, when I also replace a bulb behind the HVAC LCD. (got the bulb today too, but I only want to pull the console apart once) and I should have one of Slyfox's SAIP bypass kits coming soon too.
After that I'll be doing some Timing system service, and then I'm thinking new speakers and a new headunit. The base system isn't half bad compared to the setup I had in my Sport Trac, but it could still use some work.
Since I was too excited to take pictures while doing any of this, here's one I took this morning walking into work.

I bought it roughly 2 weeks ago and since then I've gone on around 5 trips through whatever trails I could find close to home and have really been impressed with this truck! It's 2wd and I actually went some places last night that an awd Forrester with ko2s couldn't go! Haven't done much of anything yet besides paint the wheels black yesterday and removed running boards.

I began the long slow process of trying to restore, and get all the scratches and paint damage out of my 4Runner. I have scratches that go the whole way down the vehicle. I did a couple panels over the last few days, and I'm pretty damn happy with the results so far. I imagine it'll take me several weekends to do the whole thing. Cutting, polishing, the whole works.
