What did you do with your 4runner today?

I wanted to level my 08 and decided on the KYB shock and spring combo with Daystar leveling kit. I'm on a budget and was afraid to deal with springs. Long story short, I couldn't get the spacers to fit on the KYBs. It was a pita and we broke a few bolts but got the KYBs on without the spacers. I think the spacers would have made it nose high. Also got some cheap Costco seat covers.

Finally replaced the front calipers and rotors, I've only had the parts on hand since like February

Afterwards I was picking on a rust spot on my tailgate with a screwdriver, ended up with a hole about the diameter of a pencil. So I took the interior panel apart to investigate. The area of the rust spot has OEM sound deadening around it, peeled the stuff off and found a rusty area about 4" x 6" in size. I was able to sand off the loose rust, was already getting too dark to work on it so tomorrow I'll either treat the area with rust converter, primer, then rattle-can bedliner or skip the converter and brush on Rustoleum rusty metal primer then the bedliner. I haven't decided on what to do with the hole, maybe a bumper sticker temporarily.

I hope you get your amp setup. That head unit sounds just fantastic when directly wired to some decent speakers and an amp.
I live now in a area that is almost guaranteed to have cell coverage. I was in the mountains. So I used to need the navi much more. I was exactly like you then.
I tried adjusting the detail, but you still can only see major roads (interstates only, etc.) zoomed out just 3 or 4 times.
I'll try that 2D trick. Thanks man!

We've got two RR's, love 'em! No pictures, but we took them out to the desert this weekend to let them chase lizzards and roadrunners. RR's are the best dogs!

After seeing one Wet Okole seat covers on here I decided to stop by their Costa Mesa office and order some for my front seats. Went with black with full charcoal piping and a TOYOTA logo without the emblem. 10-12 days waiting period.

Had the pleasure of replacing my wheel bearing this past weekend. I have been trying to track down an issue that arose after I did my new suspension and cv shafts. Switched my diff bearing to the ECGS bushing, kept getting leaks from various seals I put in the diff, and then one day I was lifting myself off the ground putting my weight on the wheel, and felt it move 12-6. And bam! Bad wheel bearing. Checked all four corners and just that front left was bad so I ordered a whole hub/bearing assembly and popped it in there.
It's an Easy job if you have the tools and general knowledge of your 4Runner. I was putting my brake rotor back on when I realized I forgot to put the splash guard back on so I had to pull the whole thing back off (already torqued and loctited) and then reassemble. Don't forget to put a new steering knuckle seal in while your at it.
I am just so pumped on how quiet it drives now. That howling was awful. I just thought it was my tires being worn out, but boy was I wrong.
Hopefully now I can say I'm done working on my 4Runner for a while. I've been telling myself that every weekend for the last 4-5 months. And somehow there's always something else that I "believe" needs fixing haha! Girlfriend is about ready to burn it to the ground or kill me if I don't stop.

What amp are you using? I'd like to find something that fits within the stock amp/sub location.

Off topic for your comment, but could you tell me more/show what your sub/amp/headunit/speaker setup is like? I think you have the sub I was looking at

Yeah I have an alpine head unit. Mids and highs are focal component speakers front and rear. I run those off a 50x4 alpine amp. For bass I have a single kicker comp 12 powered by the kicker 300watt mono amp. I actually bought the bass setup dirt cheap off Craigslist, and when I went to get cable to install it, I decided I might as well do the whole system. All the doors and hatch are covered in dynamat.
I love the focal component speakers. I was listening to different models on the demo board and couldn't believe the sound quality. I wanted clarity>bass so I dropped a bit more than anticipated on those speakers all the way around. The sub provides just enough bass to cover where the focals drop off in the lower range. I didn't need block rattling bass so a single 12 was fine. (Sealed box) Being a cheap sub, it's not as "tight" or "quick" in response as I wanted but hey it was almost free when I got it. Some day I want to replace it with a RE subwoofer, but for now it's fine.

I had faded plastic trim on my '02 Xterra. Painted it all with black Duplicolor Bumper Paint. Had the vehicle for several years after and it still looked great when I sold it.

Yeah, i have thought about that but really would like to have the smooth color matched cladding like the Limited models had that year.
Mine is a base 06 sr5
