What did you do with your 4runner today?

Did you ever install this?

Nope. I still have the parts and all. I even drew up a diagram and such. Ready to go. However, I also wanted to relocate the hazard light button. I purchased a "blank" to fill in the future empty slot, but I can't remember why I didn't proceed.

Going to dig up the parts (where I have some notes) and see what held it up.

Blown shock

I was filling up today and did a walk-around as I usually do. I immediately noticed oil in the passenger side wheel well, looked closer and found that my nearly new Bilstein 6112 has blown. I'm really disappointed because I've barely even used them off road, almost entirely on-road. Well, we'll see what Bilstein says on Monday . . .

Oil changed and air compressor installed. It started snowing on me so I called it a day. I'll route it in the cab tomorrow.

Installed KYB front coilovers and rear struts. MOOG springs in rear.
Rough ride is gone! Also installed MOOG front and rear stabilizer bar links not pictured.

Tried to remove the knock sensor, but the the water outlet lines are in the way and hard to access the back bolt holding the bracket in the back of the engine. Has anyone done this before? Please help! 2007 T4R V6 SR5.

Parking brake light comes on under load and goes away once letting off the throttle. Just started in the middle of my busy weekend. Figured problem with my parking brake obviously and will get to it this weekend was the plan. Driving to work and now these lights come on with brake light but will go off before the parking brake light does. Is my research correct that most likely throwing these codes use to brake issue and truly not a trac control issue ?

The answer you don't want to hear is "Stop driving it" until you find the braking system failure. Truly, you *may* be putting yourself and others at risk.

That said, have you checked under the vehicle for leaking or split lines, have you checked the master cylinder for fluid level and/or leakage? How is the travel and feel of the pedal? Lots to check before driving further.

It's bolted to the fender for the time being. I am going to a dual battery setup and build a mount in the near future.

I would hold off on getting it. The fitment is too low so you can’t shift past 4. I didn’t realize it til I was going down hill today. Might need to modify it or get an older one. This is meant for 5th gen...

I'm currently using this knob in my 05. These are the same thread, you'll need a long t-handle or allen, and run these up inside to allow for the knob to tighten but stil leave space to shift into the low gears.

I guess I should have mentioned that the parking brake has been kind of an issue since I put brakes on it would click when in reverse so I know there is an actual issue with the parking brake mechanism but I don't think it's actually a brake issue per se. I haven't noticed any leaks but it's also been you know -20 hours snowing so it is definitely something to look into thank you.

Going to be doing the same this weekend; KYB up front and rear and new sway bar end links. How do you like the Moog rear springs? Ive read good and bad and havent pulled the trigger on them yet

I removed my rear wiper motor (broken shaft). Took out the shaft, Tig welded a 1/4” fastener with head removed, cut it down to size and reinstalled. I ordered a new wiper arm, hopefully the weld will hold up when i go to install the arm, if not i will search for a replacement motor

Nick, the lights might be coming on because the ECU is sensing a brake light on while you are driving/hitting the gas pedal. I don't know if it's the same on Toyotas, but the Polaris Rangers, Hondas, etc I work on will throw codes if they sense someone hitting the brake and gas at the same time or if there is an issue with the brake light circuit. It usually isn't an issue when there is a throttle cable, but since these are "drive by wire" it might be causing it.:noidea:
