What did you do with your 4runner today?

Actually it’s in reference to the 2JZ in the IS300

Lol didn’t even try yet. The v8 isn’t that hard. My 5VZ was more of a pain compared to the 2UZ.

Ah, after re-reading your post I see what I did. That’s what I get for skimming over and trying to do a fast reply at work! Haha

I have heard/read that the 2UZ is a pain, but I guess any oil filter can be considered a pain compared to the 1GR.

Definitely a tight spot on that IS300 though, looks like a PITA!

It only required removal of the skid plate so it’s nothing bad. Too bad when they went to the 5th gen they put everything underneath for the 1GR requiring skid plate removal.

Today I installed a set of black projector headlights on my 2005 4Runner that I got off Amazon.

someone above mentioned exercising their 4x4 - i did the same.
i just got my t4r and wanted to engage all the 4x4 systems. first in driveway and front lawn i had no problem with 4Hi and 4Hi Locked. I couldnt get 4Lo to go for the life of me - so i was bummed. i went out again that evening
and put it in some beach sand and got 4Lo to engage - and with it locked!! Pumped and will make sure to engage the systems every couple months from now on.

In my 2016 T4R SR5 Premium with rotary 4WD knob, you have to put it in neutral BEFORE you turn the knob to 4Lo.

Swapped out the blown stock JBL sub for a new Rockford Fosgate, installed a new HU, and did the independent fog light mod to get ready for a new front bumper with better lights. More reasons why this forum is such an invaluable resource-- as well as an excuse to avoid other chores. Threw in a Sprint Booster to mitigate the lag with FBW throttles...Muuuuuch better throttle response now...I understand why MPG drops a little when it's just this much fun! Smiles Per Gallon now!
