What did you do with your 4runner today?

Threw in a Sprint Booster to mitigate the lag with FBW throttles...Muuuuuch better throttle response now...I understand why MPG drops a little when it's just this much fun! Smiles Per Gallon now!

I’ve been STRONGLY thinking about getting one for the past couple of weeks now. Do you feel it is worth almost $300, though? I’m not trying to be cheap, just have to prioritize my mod budget because I’m dropping well over $1500 in the next week or 2 on wheels/tires, and I need to do some brake stuff as well, so I’m just concerned that it won’t make enough difference in performance to justify the cost.

Well, I haven't had to drop too much money on this thing in the last few years; the throttle always really just annoyed me...it wasn't a threat in driving, but it IS annoying when thinking you're going ot go where and when you want to go. I have 33s and an average lift with a bumper, and...yada, yada, yada...If I was hurting on what to spend my dollars on to gain the most out of my ride, perhaps not a "great" idea...like stated above, I'd get the fundamentals accomplished first, brakes, suspension, maintenance, tires, etc...if you find yourself with a few dockets burning a hole in your pocket, I'd certainly suggest the Sprint Booster offered by Jason Burtman! I'm very happy with the noticeable change (far better than an intake for what it's worth) and definitely recommend it...Buy now as it's the cheapest it will ever be now...if not, just ignore the laggy throttle...

I must say though, I didn't bi#&$ about the throttle too much until I read up on the great results people have been gaining...so I tried it and now I am definitely bi#&$ing about the factory throttle response!

Thank you for the extra detail. To be honest, I didn’t really notice the issue with the throttle until reading the discussions about this product. My truck has headers, exhaust, and an AFE filter so it runs pretty decent, but ever since reading about this device, I’ve been wondering if it might be a nice finishing touch for the other mods. And to your point, the sale price is what is causing me the trouble in prioritizing my spending because it’s a really good discount.

Knowing from experience, I said that last month and dropped a grand on new fox 2.5s for the front to save 100 on an ebay sale. Then did a timing belt job that wasn't necessary because the previous owner did it with no records to show it was done. Both things I could have waited on. Now it turns out my brakes really needed the work first so I'm dropping another 1500 on brakes when I could have done it first and saved all that other money for later. Do what you want but you can save 50 dollars later down the road too lol. Just saying man, sprintbooster won't help your truck stop or save your rotors if your pistons are frozen.

That’s a really excellent point. Thanks for sharing your experience. That was my fear actually. It’s not that I couldn’t afford to do the stuff I’m planning, I just didn’t was to spend the “extra” money on the SB, and then have some major thing need immediate replacement before I had a chance to replenish my account/ mod budget.

Yea I hear ya, if you can afford it might as well do it. I'm about to pull trigger on this hitch gate a bit early but saving a few hundred makes it worth while. Just make sure it doesn't break budget for the things that matter. It's like changing the exhaust out while your tires are worn down haha. I've done that before too :lol:

Since I'm in Bloomfield I thought I'd buy a Bloomfield Jack and mount it. I was in the hardware store buying paint for my sliders anyway. Then I bought a bunch of paint for my dad's Ford frame. Hard to find a single square inch without a spot of rust on it; nothing serious yet. Thank jeebus for rust reformer.

Added some 3M safety walk tape to the sliders and my bumper. I stand on my bumper a lot

Greased the drive shaft and added some protective zerk caps I got on Amazon. Pic shows one zerk capped and the other about to be.

I have extra caps, so the first two people to PM me their addresses will each get a set of 6 (enough for all zerks on a 4WD) shipped at no charge. All I ask is that you pay it forward when the opportunity arises.

I just lucked out. I came across a few threads that reminded me that I wanted a wilco tiregate and randomly searched for it. I could have waited but who passes on a 50% off tiregate... :dance:

I should really setup a craigslist alert but that'd end up being a double edged sword. Saving and spending money at the same time.

Nice find. I picked mine up off Craigslist too. Paid $400 for it and it was in almost brand new condition. He'd even installed the license plate relocation and LED light kit. It took about two months of searching CL every morning before I found it.
