how do you like your blitz bumper? mine is on order and winch arrived (warn 8k synth)
been soaking the bumper bolts (mine dont look too bad)...any issues with yours or during install? im still debating on running a lightbar (which did you put in there?) or KC 6" or Hella 6" roundlights on the barwork. i dont like the idea of the lightbar failing (i do lots of water) and having to drop the bumper for getting it out. im not sure where id route the round-lights as of now if i got that direction...
i might put my plate where lightbar cutout is if tuffy flip-plate i ordered for fairlead aims too downward, then ill run the light on hoop and plate in the lightbar cutout area.

I like it and i'd suggest just going with a light bar and not attach anything to the bar work, I had a few attached to the bar and just didn't like the way it looked. A good lightbar is going to withstand any water that would see unless you are submerging it for long periods of time.

thanks. i should have known w the color, i saw your thread and it gave me the confidence to finally buy the damn thing. glad its still working well and yes im installing all that prior. lock tite blue for everything? which light did you install?? crazy the damn light could be 30% cost of bumper or more...

there are highly reviewed ones in the $50 - $70 range on amazon but i could go to $150 for 20" light (maybe extreme LED)

i heard v4x4 lightbar brackets dont work for all types, kind of curious what you put in there/dont want to deal w buying one and it not fitting.

i could see submerging the lightbar for about 10 seconds at a time with the wheeling i do btw...almost why the higher mounter KC's i was thinking

when in rome, i might run those grabbers in 275 70 17, E pretty soon as well, on american racing outlaw IIs. ive heard good things about those grabbers, especially in ice and snow for up north where i am

On Sunday I installed new 4Runner-specific rear 4600s on my '07 Sport. As background, I've had 2015 Tacoma OR 4600s front and rear for about 2 years and 50K miles. While I still feel the Tacoma swap is a solid choice, especially given the cost relative to a whole new setup, some owners may definitely prefer to use the 4R version of the 4600 for the rear. So far I have a couple of hundred miles on the new rear shocks; I like the ride a lot and the 4R version of the shock is noticeably beefier, something that surprised me when the shipment arrived a few days ago. Here's a side-by-side:

I still have a front set of 4600s, coils, & UCAs from a 2020 Tacoma OR I plan to install up front. Those aren't a concern b/c the vehicles are nearly identical up there whereas the Tacoma has leaf springs vs. coils on the rear.

i don't think I used any loctite, but blue would be sufficient im sure.

note; it was about 1/16th an inch too wide at the mounting point and I had to sand down the lightbar itself to get it to fit. I did this while the bumper was mounted so I may not have had such a difficult time if the bumper was off and I had full access to the mounting area. I did not need to use the bracket that came with the lightbar.

I removed my hardwired radar detector cord (daughter doesn't need it!). I then moved the dash cam to the center of the window below the mirror. I still have to figure out how that black plastic wire cover goes back in.

I replaced a broken wheel stud on the passenger rear wheel. I did not have to remove the parking brake adjuster assembly. Merry Christmas!

I did the same about 4 months ago. Huge difference in visibility. I left the high beam halogen and it add a nice amber color making less harsh for oncoming traffic and highlights the road better.

I bought the X3 brand on ebay, and avoid the LEDs with fans, the fan interferes with radio reception in every car I tried them.

I used my brakes today, instead of letting a red-light runner t-bone me as they continued past me. Of course when I go to get the recording off the dashcam, it recorded everything after the event as I have a cheapo camera and half the time, the button turns the "save" feature off instead of on.

Finally had time to restore my passenger side headlights.

I used a kit by CERAKOTE works great.

Blacking out a "matte black" grille ordered off of Amazon... It was more of a translucent, moderately shiny black plastic that showed every wipe scratch from the factory/seller.

So, I'm drying my second light coat of matte black Krylon Fusion as we speak, to be followed up with a third and a subsequent matte clear coat to help protect it. Don't know how durable it'll be, but will let ya know. Doing it to my original grille's Toyota and V8 emblems and a license plate frame as well.

It's a little wet in this pic, but as it's drying I'm REALLY liking the true matte finish prior to the 2X UltraCover clear matte coating.

I got a quote to coat/rust prevention the frame. Luckily, my frame is in excellent shape so I can avoid any major work. I'll probably pull the trigger in the next month or so.
