I just read the rest of this thread from years ago. Check out what [MENTION=66389]BlackWorksInc[/MENTION] said on page 1. He’s an ASE Certified Master Tech who works for a Toyota dealer and knows his business.

Put nearly 20K on mine and have wheeled the piss out of it in Moab and back home in Arkansas. No issues to speak of minus a bad wheel bearing which I attribute to the 200K on the odometer.

The way I see it is, the chance of your wheel falling off is greatly reduced with not having them, whether correct install or not occurred. Also factor in an increase chance of affecting wheel bearings. If you have the option I would not run them.
