Hi guys my name is nick just joined the site.what do you guys think about this deal. Last night i bought a 98 sr5 4wd 5speed leather sunroof the works for $350. The guy ran it hot so im hoping just a set of gaskets but for that price even a rebuild would be worth it in my eyes. Any opinions?

$350 for the whole vehicle? If that's the case, then it's definitely worth it. You'd pay more than that for one with no engine in it at all.

Yea whole truck clean title and all no rust that ive found body has about four smal dings. Other than that everything seems top be in good shape.

Located in louisiana. Yea i got it to start last night once i got it home . It would come above 1k so i shut it off. Im thinking the cylinder is probably filled with coolant. I'll post some pics when i get some good ones. Nothing else seems to be a problem with it that i can see from this point. Ill be starting the tear down later this week and this weekend.hopefully ill at least get the heads off an see if theres any obvious damage to a piston or valve or anything.

Sounds too good to be true. But if this is the case then you got a steal of a lifetime so hold on to that gem forever because you'll never find another quite like it. At least not for that price.

I figure even if i have to rebuild the engine well worth what the outcome will be. I've found a few rebuild kits for around $400. Any advice on these.

And man killer deal, since you got it at such a good deal, I would advise to spend some extra cash and replace the usual stuff along with what's broken.

Like water pump belts flush all fluids and stuff like that.
