I'd say...Go for it! Not a fantastic deal but a good deal. They will probably sell it for less. Always start lower and work up from there. I bet you can get it for 1k less than what they are asking.
The pictures show a well kept and clean car. Have it checked out and take a look under it. That will tell the real story. Get a CarFax too.

It looks good, but keep in mind that we are in a buyer's market right now and dealerships are desperate to sell anything, give an offer of 12.5 and try to get them to go for 13-13.25

Do your homework if you haven't already.

Print out the KBB retail, private party and trade-in values for that vehicle so you're not talkin' out of your azz when you throw lower numbers at him. I just talked a dealer down from $15,800 to $13,500 on a nice used vehicle for my g/f. Retail was $15,200.

Well guys I checked out the vehicle last night. It runs great and is very clean. There is a nick on the gas cap, but alittle touch up paint would fix that right up. I checked on carfax and all the reports were of general service records for oil changes, lubes, etc. Overall I was pretty pleased with the vehicle.

I did crawl underneath and noticed that the underside had some corrosion going on, is this normal.

What would you guys offer him for the vehicle. He has had it on his lot for about a month now.

Since it has been on the lot for that long, I would start the offer at $2k less than what they want. Do not give them what they are asking! These guys buy these cars or trade in's for way less that what they sell them for. They still make money.
Go for it! Sounds like a good 4 runner.
