IMO on darker colors, i think the darker sticker looks better. go with a dark grey and red or something like that. Also someone said black with red outline. thats what i have. sorry about the crappy cellphone pic froma long time ago.

I decided to look through a bunch of pictures of 01-03 black tacomas to see what the decals they were coming with from the factory were. They are for the most part (probably all the real ones : ) silver writing with grey shadowing and small print (see pic). I think this is the combo I'm going to try seeing as I want it to appear as factory as possible. (however contradictory that sounds!)

Anyone else wanna talk me out of doing them all together? I'm still undecided but I'm leaning really far towards doing it!

I think the OEM sticker you posted above would be the way to go. If you could find that with the "toyota racing development" in red, that would be pretty sweet.

I've been debating putting some on my 4R but haven't taken the plunge yet... Not sure if that's because I'm not convinced I'll love it, or if the price of the good quality OEM stickers is too high...

Its the most factory looking TRD sticker you could find but a little color contrast can't hurt either... I like the individual type letter stickers, though over the one piece such as in the picture.

I agree, I have he individual die cut lettering and it looks better IMO than OEM and it's a lot less $$ too. I've had mine for probably a year now and they still look great. I doubt they will ever peel.

I have the same custom cut vinyl stickers and they are tough..even after running my orbital buffer over, they are intact without any edges peeling.

The company that makes them uses the same premium vinyl for sheriff and local contractors vehicles.

Doubt I'll ever order from them again.....not in a long long time!:naughty:

Longevity of the stickers depends on a lot of factors (weather,garaged,in direct sunlight alot) and what they are exposed to but even my cheap ones still look like the day I installed 'em over 3 years ago.
I've seen OEM ones that are over 12 years old and look great and I've seen less than 5 year old trucks losing decals.

yeah i'm pretty sure you could go to any sticker maker/printer and get very very nice custom made ones for cheaper then the oem prices and most likely better quality, i mean we're talking about a $100 sticker here which is ridiculous, heck you could make some laser cut SS plates with the trd logo on them for around that

i say either get them custom made from a local printer or listen to the guys here who have found a good quality knock off before you walk into the dealer on this item.....


i mean come on OEM sticker is a little over kill and i'm all about the stock look with a few mild upgrades.

Well I just ordered my decals and come on here to see the thread has come back to life! I went ahead and ordered them through TipTopSigns for 34.88 total w/ shipping. We'll see how the quality is when they arrive, and yes I'm going to make ya'll wait to see what color combo I picked until they are on the truck!
