Came across this to day what do you think about it? I am a new owner of a 92 and was looking around and saw this and started thinking about mileage what have been your solutions? I've thought about changing the muffler to gain a couple and thought a couple from this chip might be worth it. do any of you think and have solved( in your own mind) the millage question?

thanks for your help with the new guy.

if you read it it says it connects to you IAT sensor IDLE AIR INTAKE that means your air temperature will be adjusted to make your engine think your getting cold air that will make the ecu throw less fuel at the engine causing your engine to run lean
chips=scam
they lean out your engine and reduce your engine life and even have the ability to detonate your engine.
gas saving pellets= scam
i dont think ground up grass shavings will help gas mileage
hydrogen fuel cell= will help gas saving
propane conversion= cheaper by the gallon by at least 3$

change the fuel filter every 10,000 miles
run a bottle of sea foam in every third tank of gas.
freeing up the exhaust will help the less restriction on the engine the better flow and the engine wont work so hard.
cold air intakes do help they are not power adders like the honda nuts think but they do free the air flow and colder air is denser and will burn better.
just keep in mind your driving will have the most impact on your mileage if you are fuel crazy you could always do a boat tail.

The first and most important answer is...it doesn't apply to 2nd Gen models. Those computers require reprogramming at a factory (like JET Performance)--you can't just plug in a chip. As for their claims, they are rarely even close. You're not going to gain 60 hp, or jump up a bunch on fuel mileage (if you could use it, that is). There are many threads in here regarding maximizing fuel mileage, but the single most important factor is your right foot. Otherwise, keeping your engine in top tune, clean filters, proper air pressure in the tires, maybe synthetic fluids to reduce internal friction--there are no magic bullets.

Agreed...when I first bought my 4Runner, I was looking at electronic solutions for mileage...no dice. Go back to the basics, air in / air out.
I scrapped the cat, got a Flowmaster, unrestricted the intake (air intake, not manifold), the truck already draws cold air from behind the headlight...simple stuff. Synthetic fluids everywhere...and the big one...drive it with a little care and light foot. Went from 17 Hwy, to 22/24 on the long haul.
