What fridge are you running?

Just picked up a lightly used Dometic CFX 65dz for a good price.
I have not had a chance to use it on a trip yet so don't really have anything helpful to add...
But this thing is a beauty. Did a quick test plugged into the wall and it got down to temp very quickly and the freezer section was frosted over and icy in less than an hour.
Plan on attaching it to a drawer platform when I build it. Now just deciding between a slide and tilt or trying to create my own dropslide as well. Can't justify paying more for a slide than I paid for the fridge...

I'm running an ARB fridge on a Dometic slide. I built a rear cargo shelf so the fridge needs to come out in order to be opened. I've run power back to the cargo area from a Blue Sea fuse block but also run the fridge off a small solar battery (55ah AGM) that mounts in a plastic ammo can and is charged by a flexible 100w panel.
Performance wise I'm really happy with the fridge. I only use it to cool, not freeze. On packed weekend or longer trips my entire rear cargo area is jam packed with gear so air circulation isn't great. I've had the fridge run for 3-4 hours at a time and I believe it's as long as it is because the fan is pulling warm air. The internal fridge temp is fine and with solar or 12v plug it does fine.

Using a Dometic CFX-50W with cover and love it. I had the Indel B TB51A before and while it was a good fridge it sucked power even with the cover I bought from Metaltech. It's also a lot narrower and taller, while the Dometic is wider and shorter which I prefer as things are easier to pack. Also the Dometic hinge is switchable either way, so it can open left or right. The Indel only opens from the front which is easier if you don't have a slide. I did the hinge mod to the Indel to add hinges on the side and liked it better. Really can't complain about either, but prefer my Dometic after using both. And I'm using a Trekboxx system (4th Gen 4Runner Serial #001) for my slide.

A vote here for the Dometic fridge. It has changed our camping in so many ways. We just love it. Love the app too, to control and monitor temp setting.

I've got the same Indel 51L purchased through Truck Fridge in a group buy a little over a year ago. So far so good.
I keep it set just below freezing with a couple of big water bottles in the bottom. It's just cold enough that I can throw steaks or other meat on the very bottom and it stays frozen. Drinks and other food get parked in the "dairy tray" or on top and just stay very cold.
I ran 6awg wire all the way to the front and added a 2nd battery (AGM duracell). I'd like to get some kind of CTEK or other super-duper charger setup. For now, I've got a Noco Genius charger that I use to top off the battery at home. I plug in in the driveway so the fridge runs on 110V while the battery is getting a recharge. I added an isolation relay so when the truck is running both batteries charge (but the AGM never gets fully topped off). When the truck is off it's running off the "house" AGM.
I don't know if all fridges do this but it was a huge pain trying to get cords that would allow me to have both the 110VAC and 12VDC connected at the same time. I finally found a 12V cord that was straight instead of a 90. No need to jack around with the wiring to switch input power.

It's size and carry handle make it very portable so I can set it up anywhere and run power to it by whatever means are available. I regularly use it in my back yard in summer. On road trips when we're staying in hotels/motels, I carry it inside and run it off mains power.
It also doesn't take up a huge amount of space in the cargo area, leaving more space available for my wife to fill up with all her crap that she needs when we're on the road.
The only negative comment would be the lack of tie down options. But there ways to overcome this.

Nope. I am running a Northstar 31M deep cycle battery. If I'm in one place for longer than a day I use the Acopower 120W solar panel to keep things topped off.

It does not. I chose to remove mine so I could have a flat surface to mount my gravel bike and have a lockable compartment for "items" and storage underneath. This system utilizes every inch of usable space and was worth every penny.
I run the CC-40. I can't believe how cheap and handy this thing is. There is nothing like having a cold drink after wheeling and having a place for food to keep it from spoiling. I find it very convenient to just plug the fridge into the power port in the back. It only runs when the engine is on and stops when its off.
Just installed a Dometic CFX 65W with the Dometic slide on top of a Goose Gear plate system and its been great so far. It's powered by the AC plug in the back but getting it directly wired to my deep cycle battery. The CFX 65W lid will not open fully but will fully open when I slide it out. In hindsight I would go CFX 50W so I can open the lid fully from both positions.
