Man, are you guys making me jealous! Spending a day on a carrier has always been one of my greatest wishes, especially back when the engines had to go to zone-5 afterburner for launch. If it was a tourist attraction, I would pay good money to see a full round of flight-deck ops, from launch to recovery. Great stuff!

I hate you guys. I stared at Excel spreadsheets, analyzing financial statements and expense ratios of several hotels in a portfolio, estimating renovation requirements, and projected 5 year proformas to create an underlying value of the assets individually and as a whole using IRR calculations.

Here are a few more from the years, I am the guy on the right on the engine leak and ops check photo. Miss my C-130 years. The second is me in the inlet of a C-17 engine doing an inspection.

Work at my regular job has been extremely slow, so I've resorted to splitting and selling firewood to pay the bills and help with college expenses. Someday I'll have a cool job...

I remember as a kid when Southwrn Company (electricity provider in the south) would have open houses at various subsidiaries, we would be allowed into the bucket trucks. The tallest we got, maybe 50' or so from memory, we could feel the sway due to wind.

I once did a swan dive out of an aerial platform about 165' up--good thing the nice folks attached a bungee cord to me beforehand! No, not for work...but it was still awfully fun! At work, I used to run an order-picker that went about 40 ft. up--while driving forward. It swayed pretty good. That was how we weeded out the newbies--first thing, we would have them climb on, shoot down an aisle with racks about a foot to either side, and zip it up to full elevation on the fly. That firefighter bucket would be a blast!

The platform on ours holds about a thousand pounds. And yes it sways ALOT! Lol. You can feel it sway in the wind or with movement from another firefighter that's up there with you. You can climb the ladder to get up there (obviously) or just ride the platform up.
This is the best view right here though.
I really dislike thing that are high in the air and that sway I used to work for my uncle building house and I used the hate putting siding on house with them pump jack that have a bunch of 2x4s nailed together talk about swaying that was the worst thing I think I have ever done
